The sharp right turn was the result of the sharp left turn that this administration took when they led people to believe that their administration was more moderate during the campaign. It's called people rebelling against the far left progressive socialist beliefs of this administration.

They won't be around much longer unless they figure out a way to attract viewers and the cheer leading for the progressives in power won't do it.

The liberal media is already running scared! Conservative talk radio and fox news has won the day according to the american people!!!

The GOP has been turning hard to the right for at least 30 years.

DVOR are you really serious, McCain wanted to grant amnesty to illegals, Reps increased the debt, all kinds of feel good programs under Rep control created. Liberal Reps like Mike Castle, Lindsey Graham, Arlen Spector, Charlie Crist, and now the people want change back to the times when we had balanced budgets, responsible spending, programs not created to benefit the supporters of those in power. They want an end of programs which hurt job creation, economy, and burden the taxpayer with debt that will bankrupt the country.

We haven't had a balanced budget and responsible spending under ANY  Republican President in my lifetime..
I think you might have to go back to  Theodore Roosevelt to find the last good Republican to hold the
office of President   -------- although interestingly ... Theodore Roosevelt who had the West Wing built ..did
NOT have an Oval Office  ---- he had a square room --- which is now a  part of the current Cabinet Room
and the Rose Garden was actually the yard where the White House laundry was hung to dry  (the current
press room was the laundry)

Insurance is a good thing ... if you do your research ... find a good agent .... and purchase only what
is appropriate for your particular situation.

it's a gambling game.......we/they are gambling that you wont lose your leg.....and you only get $$ after you lose your leg.....
which then leads to the mentality "atleast I have insurance. I better get something for it."

Since you have such strong feelings against insurance, I am not going to argue with you.   Insurance - life,
homeowners, long term care  - has made a HUGE difference for many folks.   All of life is a gamble but I would
rather have the appropriate insurance package for me and my loved ones.   What you do to yourself is your
business ... and frankly I couldn't care less what you do to yourself.

... that is until it's mandated by the government or you're fined, which is happening now for the first time in the history of the United States of America.  Now, for the first time ever, the government is mandating people buy a specific product or service.  We already pay enough in taxes for things that we shouldn't, like the payments that come out of your check already for Medicare and Medicaid (though the "Federal Insurance Contribution Act" tax.

The key phrase there is "you would rather have appropriate insurance".  That's 100% contrary to what's coming out of Washington. You're not going to have a choice, soon.

For instance, I just got home and had this letter in my mail:

Quoted Text
Dear Member: We want to let you know about an important upcoming change to your Empire health coverage. As permitted by Section 3221(p)(3)(A) of the NY Insurance Law, Empire is withdrawing your Prism EPO coverage from the market beginning December 31, 2010.  This means that upon your next renewal on January 1, 2011, your Prism EPO coverage will no longer be in effect.  ... blah blah blah.

So, the insurance I *WANT*, and have had for a year, I can't have, thanks to govt telling me "what's best for me".

As I derive my income from investments in privately owned insurance and financial investment companies,
I  am not a fan of the government taking over the insurance industry  ... you will find nothing in my
record to show that I in anyway supported  "Obamacare".

our 'investments' in insurance are also big backers of government guaranteed pensions.....so.....I would ask who is zooming whom....
I dont have a problem with insurance but I have a problem with folks thinking that it is the end all and that nothing else will
suffice and that they no longer have responsibility....yet demand dividends in their 401k and pensions......it's all smoke and mirrors

get it?????

Funny, I always thought that they were pushing that they wanted everyone to have "health care."  The funny thing is, we already have it.  First of all, you have the Hippocratic Oath.  Second, there are laws, I don't know if they are federal or state laws that state that when someone shows up, they have the right at least to be stabilized and to be triaged for further issues that need to be taken care of immediately.  There is NOTHING that says that there needs to be someone to pay their bill, that's health INSURANCE, hot health CARE.

To Kevin's point --- "Obamacare" did nothing to address the real issues effecting the cost of health care
or the cost of health insurance.

The very fact that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed would NOT even let a medical malpractice cap be
considered .. proves that they were beholden to the trial lawyers.   A frugal estimate suggested that
medical costs could be cut 4 to 5% by placing a cap on medical malpractice suits.  Obama's response -- 4% to 5% was NOT a significant cost reduction.    That is BULLSHIT ...  if Price Chopper gives me a coupon for 5% off the cost of my groceries .. or 10cents off a gallon of gas .. heck... every bit of my money I keep in my pocket .. makes me happy.

Pelosi, Reed, and Obama refused to consider a very simple idea -- a one page bill allowing PRIVATE
insurance companies to sell insurance ANYWHERE in the US  --- that single one page bill would have
lowered insurance premiums for everyone.

I could go on about the problems with Obamacare -- but that is enough for one night.
