which has gotten me to thinking ...  less than 2 months to "peppermint pig season"

if only we had a decent candy store in the county

You should open one...Ohhhh, that's right, you actually have to be willing to WORK to run a business.  What was I thinking?

Apparatchiks are only good at one thing, regurgitating the party narrative.

Peppermint Pigs are a proprietary item, so only Saratoga Sweets can carry them.

But we have a great candy store on Albany St.  Uncle Sam's Chocolates.  I'm sure many posters here have tried it!

Thanks, I couldn't remember the name of it.  Haven't they won the TU poll for several years?

Like I said in my previous post -- Schenectady County needs a decent candy store.

DVR--when I need candy I go to Uncle Sam's.  Why?  Because he is a local Rotterdam businessman.  I try to support local folks.  His product is wayyyyyyy more than decent and he gives back to the community in particular St. Gabriel's church.  No need to tout the out of towners unless you are spending the summer there.

I've tried to convince the Mallozzi's to sell candy.  That would be a hoot (more ways than one.)

Thank you for supporting local businesses - unlike the sign makers who have to go out of state and avoid sales taxes, etc.

I'm sure US appreciates it

My family used to do business at the above mentioned establishment - until they had an unpleasant
experience with the proprietor when he was campaigning by our house.   All I will say is that we will
never again support his business nor is he ever welcome on our property again.

As for the "out of towners" comment, they support community activities as well.  Including, activities
in Schenectady County that I have worked on in the past.   So I will drive the extra mile to support
these nice people.

Well since they sell out pretty fast ... knowing that you won't be in line to buy one gives me a
better chance of getting one.

Cool beans -- the new bank at Altamont and Curry is going to be a Berkshire Bank.  I'm loving it.
