Wonder if DV will be at the meeting tonight supporting his parish against the curb fee.  Wait, maybe not because there's a public hearing later this month on that piece.

He won't be at either. He is too busy blogging idiotic talking points directly from SS Savage's email. As if that would help her.

The curb tax is the best political tool ever invented. It shows that DEMS will actually go after churches/City Mission to pay for their 35 year spending orgy. Any DEM that supports this is finished in politics.

Unlike many of the Regressives,  I have a busy schedule of community service related meetings.

As for your claim of a 35 year "spending orgy" -- the Democrats have only been in control of city hall
for 7 years -- and of the County legislature for less than 10 years.     The GOP ran the city and the
county for a dozen years (and more) before that.

Wrong as usual. The DEMS have been in control of City Hall spending ruining the City Council for 35 straight years-the last several years in control of every single seat. The same idiots that rallied against Mayor Al are now in charge and doing a worse job.

There are no REPS left to blame. Try blaming foreign banking interests. Good luck with the "fasting thinking" on the curb tax.

The democraps ran congress for 40 years too, went on wild and drunken spendng binges and then always sought to blame Reagan or whatever prez was in office. It is disgusting how they have run this state, and city as well. In the county they have increased the size of government about 40% in 6 years as well. ALL inflationary tax receipt growth has been sucked dry and they have used the "fun" balance (as our supervisor apparently calls it) to give .002% tax cuts and the like in politically important years.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Wrong as usual.  THe city legislature has been Dem for OVER 10 years.  When Al was Mayor, the dems made the laws, the dems were the legislative body.  And I remember this like yesterday because it was 1998 that Al proposed the trash fee and the council was all Dem (maybe, MAYBE one Rep) council that basically said absolutely no way, there would be no trash fee.   So, how many years ago was 1998?

But can you tell me, DV, what these Dems did a few years later when a fellow dem made the same proposal. what did the dems do then?   They voted a resounding YES on the trash fee saying it would be the saving grace for the city.  Did it save the city?   Did it increase property values, cause people to move to Schenectady, reduce crime, etc?    And now, the low income, and the seniors struggling on fixed incomes with no raises in two years will have to pay not only a tax increase, but the addition of yet another fee, AND cover the cost of the taxes and the increased taxes for the well heeled of downtown

speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

$8 PER SF WOULD INCREASE MY CITY TAXES ABOUT 50% SO I WOULD RATHER TAKE A 20% TAX INCREASE! WTF!

It's $8 per linear foot - not square ft.

You've got it, share the wealth

A TRASH FEE!!!! Now think for a minute. The people who live in the city ALREADY pay for their trash pick up through their taxes!!! So for the sake of not saying that they were going to raise the 'trash tax'....they called it a 'trash FEE'!!! They basically bullsh!tted the people.

Solution: Get the government out of the garbage business and let the people pay for a private trash service like other municipalities do!

they cant have private pay.....the city gypsies leave it all over the place and wouldn't be inclined to have such a service, as they
think the government cheese is the best crap they've ever had........they move when the cheese moves.......I wont tell you what they
leave behind......

Don't forget the landlords who own multiple properties in and out of the city --- who bring their trash
INTO the city  .. to duck paying for waste collection at their properties outside the city.

The Mayor does not make the budget. He makes a proposal and then the City Council-controlled for 35 STRAIGHT YEARS by Dems finalizes it. Frank Duci did not create this $13 MILLION deficit.

Well the taxpayers can thank their liberal socialist leaders for offering a welfare program not to be refused. The liberal socialists love nothing better than to have their electorate dumbed down!!

That is why the liberal socialists will have a harder time selling their bullsh!t in rotterdam!! There clearly are some that appear to be brain dead in rotterdam.....but certainly not all of them!! Good for  you rotterdamians!!

The Mayor is the Chief Executive Officer of the city .. and responsible for managing the day-to-day
operations.  I could cite a long list of the failures of BOTH  Frank Duci and Al Jurzinski that put Schenectady
on the  "downward spiral"  .. that Mr Stratton has been trying to pull the city out of.

Jurzinski gave us Chief Kaczmarek -- the most corrupt police chief in the city's history.
Jurzinski opened the flood gates to let the absentee landlords from downstate swoop in and buy
dozens .. if not hundreds of properties in the city.
Duci didn't believe in federal grants ... so he let the city taxpayers pay 100% for projects that we could
have gotten 80-90% paid for from Federal grants  OR  he just let the city's infrastrcucture crumble.
Duci and Jurzinski did not believe in investing in a regular schedule of road, sidewalk, sewer, and water
maintenance  -- so the city's infrastructure crumbled ---   Mr. Stratton and Mr. Olsen put in place a
regular schedule of road, sidewalk, sewer, and water maintenance   ....  it will take years but at least
the city has BEGUN to replace its aging infrastructure.
Duci threw a last minute monkey wrench into the Civic Center proposal .. let it go to Glens Falls instead.

we could go on and on .. and on

Come on DVOR, you're crying over the 1979 Civic Center?! You mean since then, no DEM could figure out that the Armory would be an idea location? What, you can't get anyone else to foot the bill?

Here's an idea...START TAXING PROCTORS!! Even if a Civic Center was in Schenectady, the DEMS would probably allow them to evade taxes as well. Schenectady is placing the burden of taxes on the homeowners. You will force families from Schenectady and will be left with slumlords, gangs and drugs.

Stratton has has many opportunities to get rid of the corrupt cops....but he hasn't. Let the City workers drive their free rides back to their homes in other towns. Even you don't live in Schenectady DVOR, stop pontificating on the City when you don't even pay the crazy taxes and bogus fees we do.
