I would like to comment on the Sunday Gazette this week-once again trash from Susan Savage and Neil Golub. Over 6 years ago my father, John Manning, was appointed by a board thru a diligent interviewing process and was placed as the Executive Director to the Metroplex Authority. If you listen to Neil Golub or Susan Savage they would lead you to believe that under his leadership nothing was done for downtown Schenectady-in fact stating he was inept. He was a retired NiMo executive and did the the job for 40+ hours a week for NOTHING!! Not a dime!! He was a volunteer!! He was also the Chairman for Schenectady County Chamber as volunteer-again, his time and no pay. He lives in Rotterdam but supported downtown to help Schenectady County. The County wanted more control of the authority to use the money however they wanted and Neil Glolub was always angry that he was not made the head of Metroplex. Susan Savage made a special position for Ray Gillen at the tune of $130,000. a year. Under John Manning over a 1,000 jobs were retained and created and under Ray Gillen and Susan Savage-jobs were lost and are still being cut and lost to other counties. My father had a transparent approach for all downtown approval processes while many of the deals currently being made are behind doors. MVP was brought to downtown because of John Manning-not Ray Gillen and Susan Savage. Along with many other larger endeavors that others are still taking credit for. Check the facts and ask why a volunteer did this for nothing but now a County & a City that needs to do job cuts and raise taxes has a paid position at the tune of $130,000 for Metroplex under Susan Savage & Ray Gillen.

So then this Mr. Manning was in charge of Metroplex when they approved the narrowing of Street in the
400 block ????

That was a HUGE mistake .. really has screwed up traffic downtown.

Nooooooooooooo......more like Susan Savage's true colors by hiring Gillen, at the taxpayer's expense, for $130K when there was already someone qualified doing it for NOTHING!!!!

Golub was apparently just disgruntled.

Where does it state that Manning narrowed State St? Manning listened to Downtown merchants and the community. He held public forums. Not the secret backroom deals of Death Ray and SS Savage.

People are furious at the self dealing and lies. The fiscal woes of the City only validate what we have been saying for years. Savage, Stratton, Gillen and Metrograft all have to go. The writer is a great girl and has every right to be proud of her father's volunteer accomplishments.

Mr. Manning must not have wanted to join the 'friends and family club'!!

Again.........who is involved in the metroplex bidding process? Who awards the bids? And most importantly....are they fair and balanced?

This ties in with the other thread about City layoffs. Some miracle? A total taxpayer ripoff whereby money is taken from suburban buyers and given to a few connected developers.

No benefit to the City, to County sales tax revenues, to jobs, to City housing prices. Everything is in free fall-except police and fire calls. And SS Savage says "It is good"?-lol-

I care.  Whoever was in charge of the city in those days absolutely screwed the family of the young man who was killed at that gas station.

I pay more taxes than you can ever imagine.

That landslide was caused by Bush and Halibuton.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Ya, the disaster happened on AJ's watch - so what?  What was done BEFORE the landslide to make sure that area was stable?  Not a whole lot, if anything.

Yes, it's unfortunate a young man lost his life in that ACCIDENT (at a gas station).

Yes, it's unfortunate that AJ didn't - along with ANY of his predecessors who allowed that station to be built with above ground tanks - use his magical powers to look into the mountain and see it about to fall.

Yes, this has nothing to do with this thread topic.

Stop blaming someone else.
