There are ways to use parks to produce revenue for the town -- that would offset any operation costs.
yeah it would also have to off-set the insurance liability cost........it's a circle jerk with no window.....hey, I like parks, honest, but right now this town has bigger fish to fry called INFRASTRUCTURE....that should have been done a generation and 1/2 ago...but they couldn't be bothered......now they want a senior center with the bells and whistles.....yeah, that's after the local gang steps in from the city projects......then maybe we could build a park invite the gang leaders over and sing cumbaya and roast marshmallows and draw up a treaty....... |

as for insurance liability -- the fact that the "bonded concrete site" is now inaccessible to emergency vehicles RAISES the liability level of the town. Developing a passive park with accessibility for emergency vehicles will actually reduce our liability and make it SAFER and allow town residents to actually enjoy the property.

Great article in The Evangelist -- the Roman Catholic Diocesan newspaper -- about Saint Margaret of Cortona Parish. The faith community is growing.
My hat is off to the great folks of Saint Margaret of Cortona -- keep up the great work. |

Actually, surprisingly, they're up to like 130 families as many didn't like the parishes that they were "destined" for.

All 8 of them.
You always have a negative comment -- but very rarely do you know the facts or have the slightest clue of what you are talking about. |

Despite the ignorant comment from GB ... the folks at Saint Margaret of Cortona should be commended for the great work that they are doing in revitalizing that faith community. I attended a day-long workshop today with reps from all of the Catholic churches in Schenectady County and we see Saint Margaret of Cortona's parishioners as a role model for what we are trying to accomplish in our own parishes.
As for those who hate Catholics or are otherwise perpetually negative, take your negativity elsewhere because it will be ignored from here on out. |
