they don't understand ANYTHING!! Just look at schenectady county. It's the laughing stock!! Intelligent???? palllleeezzzeee

While the rest of this country is working to improve their state/towns/counties, Schenectady county is still in the dark ages. They think that a couple of gin mills and a taxpaid, unsustainable theater(proctors) is moving forward!!! They are all a$$ backwards!

Anyone been on lower broadway in schenectady and looked at the DSS building???? How about the increase in crime in the entire county? How about the pan handlers? How about people pi$$ing on the sidewalks on state street? How about the people puking at bus stops on state street? How about the almost always empty Bow Tie? How about the empty homes that people are walking away from because they can no longer afford their taxes?

COME ON PALADINO!!!!!

You don't get out of schenectady county much do you? If you did, you would then know the difference between intelligent and ineptness!!!

GOP reeling from Paladino's upset victory
By: Grace Rauh
Carl Paladino's big win on primary night was a shock to the Republican Party and voters statewide. But his victory over the more experienced and well known Rick Lazio was no surprise to the Buffalo businessman. Grace Rauh has the details on the day after this major upset.

It was probably a shock because the GOP now has a real conservative at the head of its ticket and NOT a
fake one like Lazio .. who is just like Pataki but more boring as a candidate   (which is like saying that
watching paint dry is less boring than watching water evaporate from your front lawn)

Anger there, and anger here

Rick Lazio, the favored Republican Party candidate for governor of New York, hardly knew what hit him as wealthy businessman, political novice and tea party activist Carl Paladino ran him over in Tuesday’s primary. State GOP leaders can attribute this to the primary phenomenon — i.e. small turnouts where highly motivated partisans have an inordinate infl uence — but it was more than that. It was also a combination of the party’s weakness in this state, from a standpoint of both leadership and policy, as well as Paladino’s message.
That message, as Paladino himself reminded us in his acceptance speech, is anger — the driving force behind the tea party movement, which is proving to be a potent mix of populism and paranoia. Tea partiers can’t give a good, coherent reason for why they are suddenly so angry — taxes and big government were with us long before Barack Obama moved into the White House, and the immigrant population was already growing and America’s economic position in the world declining. They are definitely angry, though — and proud of it.
But while the anger nationally seems misguided and a bit of a mystery, in New York state it is justified, and the only mystery is that there wasn’t more of it in the past. The state Legislature hasn’t had a real two-party system, even when the Republicans controlled the Senate, but is a monoculture where there is very little difference between what the parties stand for or how they operate, and where corruption and self-interest have too often come before good policy and good government. .................>>>>...........................>>>>................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r00901&AppName=1

Commenting on the preceding op piece.

I don't think it is a mystery why people are so angry or upset across the nation.   While things are bad
in NY -- other states are facing economic tough times.    But it is more than just the economic tough
times that are causing the anger.  The people are tired of candidates promising to "end politics as usual"
and "end corruption" -- and then once elected  ..

they pull stunts like appointing a Treasury Secretary who
failed to pay taxes for several years -- years that he was in charge of the NY Federal Reserve and some
how didn't realize he had to pay income taxes and somehow didn't think anything was wrong with the
"credit default swaps" and other games being played that suddenly blew up into a financial disaster.

the chairman of the Ways and Means Committee which writes our tax laws forgets to pay taxes on
$500,000 of income and "accidentally" owns 4 rent controlled apartments when he is entitled to only 1 (at
most) -- claims he didn't know it was illegal but ithas been NYC law since WW2 or earlier

the president spends 20 years attending a church and claims that his pastor was his mentor and
even writes a book -- and takes a quote from a sermon - "Audacity of Hope" and makes it the title ..and
then when it is learned that in this inspirational sermon from which the quote is drawn .. the pastor made
deragotory comments about America .. then in another sermon says  repeatedly "God damn America" ...
and this president who claims to have listened attentively to his mentor/pastor sudenly claims amnesia or
some other excuse

The White House and Congress spend over a year debating a health care bill of which the White
House did not send over an actual bill .. the Congress had at least 4 versions possibly more "floating
around" .. and nobody could give a straight answer as to what was in it .. and even after it was passed and
signed into law the Speaker of the House was surprised about what actually was in the bill

these are just a few of the reasons that people are more than just disillusioned .. more than just upset ..
they are  pissed off and not going to take it anymore.

Source are you on drugs?  Palladino is a loser.  Cuomo will clean up at the polls.  Everything about Paladino is terrible.  Even his speech is hateful and violent.  He's a homophobe among other things.

Lazio will withdraw from the race opening up the important CONS line for Paladino. This will give 3 lines to Carl Paladino, REP, CONS and his own line. Cuomo has DEM, IND and WFP which he originally did not want {but now needs}. If the CONS keep Lazio they will be off the ballot in January.

This is the first time since Wilson ran that a CONS is running for Governor. Carl Paladino is winning a poll in the Gazetto with over 65% of the vote. Paladino will sweep Upstate even normally DEM counties. The key is NYC/LI can he keep it close enough there?

I don't believe that Lazio can just drop out and hand the Conservative line to Paladino.

I agree. If the cons want to keep their line, they shouldn't gamble on this race to secure it. Lazio has to withdraw.
