DUDE   in   what war did you serve your country    ???

There is no answer yet....and I expect there will be none...so that means you have not served...(allegedly)

And no nursing home on Curry Rd....or anywhere else....it takes 20 minutes just to go to Altamont Ave

and another 10 to 15 to Hamburg......business is spread out and it's like a puzzle getting from part

to another part of Town........and Edgewood ....supposed to be a Citizens Bank....that's what I heard

I wonder if the deal will ever complete. Seems hopes are raised and then something happens to squash the deal on this property....real shame.  I hope DAV gets this done. Good use of the building

It is a good use of the building IF the building is worth renovating.   But if the building is "too far gone" or has been made unhealthy due to mold or other issues -- there is no reason why the existing building shouldn't be torn down and a NEW BUILDING or NEW BUILDINGS be built in its place.

Also - my gut feeling is that this has been dragging on way too long ... and I wonder whether the project will ever be completed as proposed.

#1)  My personal life is NONE of your business since you hide behind a username and is NOT the topic of this thread

#2) In 20 minutes --- I can drive from 4 corners down Curry Rd to Hamburg -- cut over to Altamont and come back -- at least TWICE ...............  can't help it if you are too drunk to drive any faster or to figure out how to get from one part of town to another.

#3)  the Edgewood was torn down to make way for a Pioneer Bank branch .. not a Citizens bank ..so you heard wrong ----   again .. i suggest that you lay off the booze .. it is effecting your senses.

Reason would be cost...to demolish that building and address any EPA concerns and costs associated with them and construct another similar facility may outweigh the cost of proceeding with the project; versus renovating existing property and making all necessary improvements and clean-up. Likely why they want in before winter.  If that doesn't happen, I can pretty much see them walking away and looking for another property somewhere other than Rotterdam.

If they wanted to build, then Curry Plaza or even Grand Union would be better locations for them to do that. Again, the potential EPA issues could be show stoppers.

Except that at this point -- it may cost a lot more to renovate the Draper building than it would to tear down  and that inlcude remedying any epa concerns.

If they do not disturb the foundation, then EPA issues become minimal.  If they demolish, they are obligated to dig deeper for EPA related issues, again, unless they can preserve the foundation.  Either way, I only care that this project succeeds and that Vets get something they deserve.

There is too much partisan snipping over this. Kum-ba-yah.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

I think the vets should get what they deserve .. and good, decent, affordable housing is part of that.   Unfortunately, i have always thought the project was "on weak footing" because it was being pushed through very quickly by two politicians (for their political benefit)  and then sort of left to "languish on the vine" for over a year and a half.

Funny -- I haven't heard any "partisan sniping" on this issue --- the only negative/nasty comments came from the ignorant blowhard Patches who twisted my earlier comments.

So in your opinion it is a stupid and ignorant rant when a someone says that he is concerned that the building is too far gone to be renovated or that because of water damage it may have unhealthy mold or other issues?
Or for someone to say that it may cost MORE to renovate than it would to just tear it down and build a new building?  Or for someone to say that he felt the project was being pushed hard at first and then left to "languish on the vine"  (because many people have the same opinion on the project)   ???????????

What exactly is your problem ????     You work so hard to find ways to attack me or make up some idiotic statements about me.  Grow up -- you piss ant.

don't know personally....you constantly badger this person who you think I am.....

standing up to truth gets you right where your buttons pop....you don't answer a question but cover up
your imperfections by twisiting what is meant.... you think you can portray an  interested person in
a veterans home....you are nasty and a hypocrite...

You are obviously reading challenged...it's your insertion of political bull;sh*t every time that I have the problem with.  I offered my opinions on building, demolishing and clearly stated I didn't care what way they went as long as the Vets get something they deserve...then you start in about some Politician this and that...do you understand now? Stop being such a boy clown and grow up. Taking some remedial reading classes, you obviously can benefit from them.  And go back to the Doc and get your prescription filled for the multiple personalities.  You are welcome to join the meet and greet with SCOTCHGARD if that personality ever mans up.

I hope it succeeds......but I have my doubts. It is going to cost BIG BUCKS to get that building even remotely up to code. It may end up being a money pit by the time it's all said and done. And where will the DAV get all of this money?
