I don't see why it mattered if ND and GP were there. They voted on this issue...TWICE. How many times do they have to say they are against it?

It matters because according to Mr. Aragosa there is just over a quarter of a million dollars in potential costs to the Town.  This in conjunction with a pending 20+% projected tax hike for the General Fund, and an approximate 4.5% Hwy. increase, and the potential for a special taxing district for ambulance service has the potential to create major hardships for property owners.  All of this occurring within the worst economic times since the Depression, and with many residents either out of work or under-employed, these costs may create severe hardships to our residents.  That's why it matters, at least as I see it!

kinda like the school board budget re-votes - keep voting on it till it passes. ability of the taxpayer to get to every inconveniently scheduled vote, be damned.

That isn't the fault of GP and ND! They've voted no. Everyone knows their position It's the other board members that ignore the taxpayers!

Because as our public servants .. they work for us .. and if they are so strongly against something ...
they have a duty TO US to attend the meeting,  share their point of view, and have their vote publicly
recorded.

What if all the Republicans in the House and Senate just skipped attending legislative sessions from now through Election Day .. just because they knew their ideas would fail or the Democratic bills would
pass anyway ?  They would be shirking their responsibilities as our elected representatives.

This is what happened last night - and I am not happy that someone I supported and voted for last November  didn't show up.

Above pretty much sums it up!  Simply, and succinctly.

When / IF they were given the proper notice, 48 hours, I'm sure they would have been there.  27 is less than 48 - perhaps they had other plans - or perhaps the 3 musketeers KNEW they would be unavailable at an unscheduled, poorly announced meeting.

Perhaps they are a couple of spoiled political brats who are not used to defeat and can't accept being in the minority "party."  It would seem that Nikki and Gerard will be facing stiff resistance from here on out.  Too bad Nikki listened to the likes of Kelly Rhinesmith.  She is headed for the same political scrap pile as Carolina, Joe Lazzari, the many conservative renegades she bamboozled, the no-name who Carney clobbered, Spadaro, Tomassone, Parisi, NNTP party and herself.  I bid you adieu, every last one of you!

They weren't given proper notice. They have already voted no twice. The powers that be obviously don't care about what's right or what the taxpayers want. They were going to slam their resolution through no matter what. That is not transparent government!

Pathetic that now those folks live on MY BACK.....and their positions will be filled later anyhow.....and be very careful that this 'money saved' isn't touted
as a podium puck for 'money found' for REMS.......

DUMB ASSES...... the state all the way down.....I was always taught that it goes the other way.....bottom to top......

I'm gonna go with bottom-up here and they can kiss my a$$

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

The special board meeting lasted all of 15 minutes .. so it wasn't as if it was a major infringement on
their political time to show up and do what we elected them to do.

Again - it was so important, why wasn't proper (48 hr) notice given?  When is the new public hearing scheduled? I want to be there for that one.

Nobody will stop it.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Will stop what ?  not sure what the "it" is that you are referring to.

I believe GrahamBonnet is referring to an Article 78 suit against the Town Board for conducting a possible illegal meeting, and failing to hold a "new" public hearing on the amended resolution that was voted on.
