I wouldn't call his message of individuality, personal responsibility and depending on yourself and to stop looking toward government for answers snake oil or dangerous in any way.

But, blindly following a manufactured persoality in a messianic way, on the slogans of "HOPE" and "CHANGE" and electing him President is far more dangerous for our individual liberties.  

The Gaxette must have had to hunt very long and hard to get a post from NYC to fit their ideology.

Beck rally didn’t merit hysterical media reaction

    I rarely leave the channel on Glenn Beck, Fox TV, there is something about him I fi nd irritating. I was shocked to see that [by his claim] he was able to garner 500,000 people to take the time to travel to Washington D.C., to participate in a rally. This all was happening during a worldwide recession.
    He provided the audience with a long list of “last century” concepts: “go to church” “return to honor” “trust in God” and the like. There was a brief non-political (hah) appearance by Republican superstar Sarah Palin. There was a new group of clergy, the “Black Robe Regiment,” locking arms on the stage. It hardly seems worth the trip.
    What I do find astounding is not since Dorothy threw water on the “Wicked Witch” has there been such an existential meltdown, as in the mainstream media, including a column in this proud press, as there has been in the last week. Just where is the threat?
    With the New York State Legislature’s actions over the past few years making the Three Stooges look like serious drama, with the U.S. Congress shipping out trillions like looters during a hurricane, maybe Glenn Beck has a point.
