Frank DelGallo used the Democratic Party and the people of Rotterdam to get his property assessment lowered --- that he sent the town an invoice for something he was supposedly donating -- doesn't surprise me at all -- it  appalls me --- but doesn't surprise me.

It sounds like fdg thought his 'salary' would be used to pay for this.....no?

No, because remember that his entire salary was already going to pay for the new kitchen in the Rotterdam Democratic Club, AKA the Senior Center.

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

It is not my job to defend the actions of Mr. Bradshaw and the others who apparently "attempted to benefit from" what was supposed to be a donation to the town in honor of the veterans.

I will - of course - continue to defend the good name of myself and fellow members of the Democratic committee and Democratic Party because we were NEVER involved in this ... project/"scheme"  (either individually or as a group)

Oh you got the facts mixed up as always!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

I would be willing to repeat the facts as I have stated them under oath in a court of law.

Out of respect for the veterans, I will not share my thoughts on this subject.

ROTTERDAM
Del Gallo says veterans memorial costs covered by his donated salary
BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter

Outgoing town Supervisor Frank Del Gallo said his donated salary funded nearly all of the costs incurred by the veterans memorial and rebuffed claims that he spent any taxpayer money on the project.
Del Gallo said the money to pay $10,543 in itemized invoices for the memorial came from the budgetary line item for his $13,000 salary. He said now-retired comptroller Pat Aragosa didn’t raise any issues when he asked to transfer the money to purchase materials for the monument.
“I earned it,” he said of the salary. “I have the right to give it to whoever I want.”
Del Gallo said an additional $2,500 was available for the project through a budgetary line item for the town veterans. He blasted members of the Town Board for suggesting the project was furtively funded using tax dollars.
“All these people did a nice job,” he said of the workers who helped build the monument near Town Hall. “[The memorial] came from the heart, and [critics] want to make it look like thievery.”
Del Gallo said he never collected a salary during his two-year term. He said his 2010 salary was donated to help fund reconstruction of the kitchen at the Rotterdam Senior Center on Hamburg Street, after a $10,000 grant from state Sen. Hugh Farley didn’t materialize during the project. ....................>>>>.........................>>>>.................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01202&AppName=1

Any money in the budget comes from tax dollars.

I wonder how veterans in the town feel about this?

As a veteran, it was a nice gesture, but since it became political I feel disrespected and really don't give a rat's a** about it anymore. JMHO

As usual DVR confuses the issue. The problem is not the contractors who did excellent work expecting full payment. The problem is DEMS who lied about voluntary contributions for all work. The story changes in the Gazetto on a daily basis in another example of lousy reporting.

FDG contributions were not enough for both a new kitchen and veteran's memorial. The shortage should be assessed to the town DEM Committee that continues to lie and trick the taxpayers. The town taxpayers cannot continue to pay for these bull s*** artists.

Once again, the teaparty/NNTP Republicans are spreading lies and trying to deceive the public.

The FACT is that : The Democratic Committee did NOT make any promises in regards to this monument.  The Democratic Committee is NOT liable for expenses incurred and shirked off by Mr. DelGallo.  Mr. DelGallo made the promises and Mr. DelGallo should pay for it.

And shame on Mr. Bradshaw who apparently not only wouldn't obey the law in regards to campaign signs during the election -- but also waited until AFTER the election to submit invoices for work he supposedly VOLUNTEERED to do.

Let this go....this is old news....and being disrespectful to the outgoing Administration.......that's the problem....rumors

and anything to disgrace the outgoing Administration....the incoming REGIME will have lots to prove without pointing fingers at

the previous Administration....Start fresh....to me if that doesn't happen, then there will be no improvement in moving forward to show

good cause....The very fact that no one of the incoming REGIME  stated what they intended to improve, tells me that they

will carry on with back room deals and etc.,...and HB will be led by the nose...it will be in secret....there will be no transparency.

and we will see who they appoint to those "favors" and push the  others out....experience doesn't count...just how much one owes the

other...and those people don't usually improve anything....don't have a clue   .they just go along for the ride....

Be preapred to stand at the podium and no one will listen again....time and time again this is the way Rotterdam is run...

FDG had a budget that would have made sense.....the incoming REGIME will make no sense and will rob Peter to pay Paul...

The monies left over from the cutting of hours and the Proceedures that were put in place....will be interesting what happens

as it was an a harrassment, bullying, discrimination, showing favoritism, and just plain MEAN and EVIL.....by the terminated PJ..

to have been put in place for 2 PT employees....the Senior Center shuld be abolished and a new way of doing business leaving the

POLITICS out.....will be interesting to see all of what happens in all departments...

TIME THE EMPLOYEES....LESS LUNCH PAID.....JOB SHARING ....AND KNOW THAT ALL WILL BE TREATED FAIRLY.

What is disrespectful is for two candidates for town-wide office -- DelGallo and Bradshaw to seek adulation and praise for donating something (in this case a veteran's monument or work towards completing it) ... when they intended to stick the town with invoices for their "donation".

It is disrespectful to the veterans and disrespectful to the taxpayers.

Such a fool. The invoices were for the materials and hiring the laborers who helped. DelGallo's salary was supposed to be allocated to pay such out of pocket expenses. The concrete plant didn't donate the concrete, the laborers didn't donate those days. The contrators donated and Del Gallo's salary was to cover the rest of the out of pocket. Apparently the Democratic team that was elected two years ago couldn't communicate. However, who is going to be blamed next year and the year after when there is no more scapegoat like FDG.? Bill Osta? Barry Goldwater?
