ROTTERDAM — Somewhere, there’s a flock that is one sheep short.
Authorities in Rotterdam are searching for the owner of a male sheep that was found meandering near Town Construction & Paving on Burdeck Street over the weekend. Tim Longo, the town’s animal control officer, said a passerby reported the sheep to police Friday and he was able to capture the animal Sunday. “He’s in good health, just a little tired,” Longo said Tuesday. But since that time, Longo has been unable to locate the owner. He contacted the owners of three area sheep farms, but none appeared to be missing any animals. “We want to try and find the dren that apartments were available for rent and, within hours on the same day, telling applicants with children that there were no apartments to rent. Asking applicants whether they had children or planned to have children and stating that families with children would not be able to rent certain apartments. Making comments that Shady Lane Apartments does not want young children. Telling blacks they had to make an appointment and fi ll out an application before viewing an apartment. White applicants had no similar requirements. Encouraging white applicants to apply for an apartment by personally escorting them to the rooms, but discouraging black applicants from applying by having them view apartments on their own. The lawsuit alleges that Tope’s and Shady Lanes Apartments management’s actions were willful and intentional. The attorney general is seeking an injunction against their alleged discriminatory actions, as well as civil penalties and compensatory and punitive damages. owner,” he said. “I’ve tried every lead I’ve had.” The sheep has its horns cut and has a blue paint marking on its back. Longo said a tag on the sheep’s ear bears the number 599, but no other identifying information. Officials from the state Department of Agriculture and Markets were also unable to track the animal. Longo said the sheep is temporarily being kept at Peaceful Acres, a horse stable in Rotterdam Junction, but that the farm couldn’t keep the animal for much longer. How did Tim Longo know the sheep was tired? Did he bring the sheep home with him and it went straight for the couch and demanded a cold cloth for his forehead? Did he look up Bo Peep in the phone book? Did he ask all of the insomniacs (being the sheeps number was 599)? Maybe his number was up..... Maybe FDG can have it stuffed and he can put it over at Brokeback (where by the way a Michael Godlewski sign still stands, take down the damn sign already Jr., the school board election is over). Or maybe just maybe (if you read the legal notices today, FDG will serve it up at his take out BBQ pit). I am just sayin'.

when all the strays wear out their welcome they will become trophies on mariaville and burdeck - heck it looks like it even happens to ex-employees

I actually meant "free range" of the farm, like the peacock.
I don't like killing animals if I'm not going to eat them - and personally, I don't eat goat, or sheep, or peacock ... but hey, if that's your "game" (pardon the pun), enjoy your dinner
If I were him, I'd probably be opening a petting zoo, or kennel for all the town strays. It'd likely be a profitable business once he retires from the TB - moreso than NY BBQ
Who the hell can not know that they are missing sheep????? I mean how many people in rotterdam actually own sheep and exactly how many of them? However, it is certainly 'news worthy'!!
