As long as Charter Schools are taking taxpayer dollars out of locally funded public school districts without
the ability of either the local voters or the local school board to have some oversight/control ... I will
oppose Charter Schools.

As for the performance results --- look at the Charter Schools in Albany that failed BIG TIME ... spent
millions to build new buildings ... sucked money out of the Albany Public Schools and shot it right down
the toilet.

The Schenectady International Charter School (the one housed at Draper) sucked taxpayer dollars out
of Schenectady, Mohonasen, and other school districts  ... and failed miserably ... shot those taxpayer
dollars down the toilet.

As for Teachers Unions .. I have never "spouted" their agenda ..  it just so happens that we both
are opposed to Charter Schools but for different reasons.

you just love giving other folks the control.....anyone can pull out of the charter school any time they want......and anyone can pull out of the public
schools anytime they want.....what folks fail to see is that it's NOT rocket science....the ability to learn at any time does not come from an organized
machine.......

actually --- I just love giving the taxpayers the control --- which is something that they do NOT have with
Charter Schools.     If the Charter Schools had to put their budgets up for a vote by all the taxpayers who
were expected to PAY for the Charter School ... then I might consider changing my opinion about them.

what the plebs fail to see.....THEY ALWAYS HAVE THE CONTROL.....dont send them to the crappy school en masse........

my opinion which is about as valuable as yours....is that EVERYONE has the right to choose and sometimes that choice is just NO......regardless of
public/charter/high falutin private.....we have what we have because we have what we have and money is not always the answer.....sometimes
IT IS THE SYSTEM AND THE MOLD THAT IS RUNNING IT......

You have no proof that the Ambulance District vote is rigged  ... if you wish to make such accusations
be able to back it up with evidence ... just in case you should be sued for libel/slander.

MT provided the evidence for me, and for that I thank him.  I would love to be sued for libel/slander for making the claim this election is being rigged, when we have our County Legislator sending an e-mail threatening our elected officials political retribution if Rottedam residents desire Mohawk Ambulance and the $100K revenue it generates for the Town.  How about gerry-mandered, is that a more accurate description for this referendum?

You just love taxes...period...and we don't care if you change your tax-and-spend opinion.

Everybody knows that the education cartel continues to suck up increasing amounts of cash...always claiming that the answer
to the failing public schools is to throw more money at it.

If Charter Schools put their budgets up for a vote taxpayers would find that the Charter Schools operate on about two-thirds of
the money per student. Their success demonstrates that money isn't the answer...the answer is ACCOUNTABILITY...something
sorely missing from the education cartel.

why be accountable when in the end you still receive your retirement stipend STAMPED AND GUARANTEED FEDERALLY APPROVED......I could never be a teacher....not in the public school system....especially
with the standardized testing(BIG MISTAKE)......their union needs to pay it forward....not the cushy cushy appeal but the independent responsible for yourself learn throughout life skills that are missing

not all teachers are bad, but there is definitely a gumba attitude in the system.....they claim not enough teachers but yet wont move over to allow others in....they wont share the $$ amongst themselves.....

Like health care.....you cant afford me and I cant afford you(especially that union monkey on our backs)

No...rigged is the right term...and the recent accusations against Jasenki not only strenthen the notion that it is rigged, but indicates
that he is sensing rapidly growing opposition. Advocating for this unnecessary tax is Jasenki's sole purpose for reappearing in Town
Hall over these last several months. When his irrelevant walk down REMS memory lane in his non-presentation on behalf of REMS
got him nowhere, he resorts to threats...nice move Tony...desperate as it was.

Kelly, you are lying again -- you don't know my opinions.   You think that just because you say something
it is true  .. but on this you are not only wrong -- but deliberately lying about me and my views.

Bottom line ---  I do NOT support Charter Schools because they take taxpayer money and the taxpayers
do NOT get to vote for either the budget nor the school's board.   True accountability is letting the
taxpayers VOTE on the budget and the school's board.

EVERYONE HERE knows your "opinions" Ron...on EVERYTHING...you have yet to meet a single post to which you could resist
responding...you obviously have nothing but time on your hands...must be nice...maybe we should tax your abundance of free
time Ron!!

Plenty of taxpayers vote for Charter Schools when they put their kids on the increasingly LONG waiting lists for entry to these
schools....they care about RESULTS the public schools have increasingly failed to produce.

I don't need to lie about you Ron...you and your "opinions" expose what no one could ever make up.

People are tired of these public schools and WANT another choice. The public schools are just pissed because that is monies lost to them!! They seem to forget that it is still the TAXPAYER'S MONEY! The taxpayer makes the choice with 'their money'!!

Any way, obama is for more charter schools and everyone knows, obama is always right....right?

There you go again concocting another fantasy --- with your Regressive thinking .. proving once again
that you are a Nattering Nabob of Negativity.

Me thinks you spent a lot of time learning the ways of Mihkail Suslov.

They support the entire failed Obama agenda-except in one area-Charter Schools! Charter Schools save money since they educate at less than half the cost per pupil. Yes, ONE Albany school failed. The other TEN are excellent and drawing students (and tax dollars) from Schenectady County. We have to pay the busing expenses which are greater since we have no charter here.

These so called liberals are scared to death of giving working class parents choice in education. They think they should have the right to decide for the parents. They know damn well parents will never choose the failed dangerous public schools. One and possibly 2 charter schools are coming to Schenectady County! Good luck to Tonko and any other union hack that tries to stop it.

"think" anymore if you can't...umm...well....in fact, think.
