Nursing home resident Betty Atkins likes the new accommodations at the new Ellis Residential and Rehabilitation Center. “It’s very spacious. It’s something you might dream about,” she said. Atkins was one of the residents and others who got a sneak peak Wednesday at the new center on McClellan Street at the site of the former St. Clare’s Hospital. Ellis Medicine just wrapped up an $8 million renovation to transform the second and third fl oors into long-term care and short-stay rehabilitation rooms. In mid-June, the 82 residents will move from their current home on the fifth and sixth floors of Ellis Hospital’s Nott Street facility to the new campus. The new facility has almost twice the space of the previous location, including separate dining areas and activity space, as well as a rooftop garden, according to Ellis spokeswoman Donna Evans. Previously, hospital officials had to use their dining area for multiple purposes. ...............>>>>................>>>>.................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01400&AppName=1
