I have to wonder if this difference between TB and GP's support of GA is just staged. Could TB just be giving lip service in favor of GA, but is supporting GP's efforts behind the scenes??

Being that TB was/is employed by Tedisco.....

Hey, we never knew that

Trolling through the SeeThroughNY.net website, a reporter for the Schenectady Daily Gazette discovered the chairman of the Schenectady County Republican Party has a part-time patronage job in the Assembly.

"The connection was largely unknown outside a tight Republican circle," the Gazette reports.

Thomas D. Buchanan is paid $879 biweekly (which works out to $22,854 a year) as special counsel to the Assembly Minority, according to payroll data listed seethroughny.net.

The Gazette quotes an aide to Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco who said Buchanan works five to 10 hours a week for the Assembly. Buchanan told the newspaper he has a full-time job with the law firm of Hacker & Murphy.

Salami, judgeship?  Yea, pretty sure there is a moral fitness issue that would preclude his placement on the bench.

GFP got passed over for the Assembly and rightly so, he's a walking disaster.  All this commotion only promises more infighting in the Rotterdam GOP.  And before any committee people get all full of yourself, 31/25 or whatever it was doesn't come close to representing what the enrolled Republicans in the town want.

You each have your own agenda and none represent the true Republicans.

Just curious about this comment from GA about how much Tommasone cost his family, what are we talking in dollars for the application, engineering fees, lawyers and employees?  Wouldn't the town normally just tell the developer NO, instead of running up his bill and then saying NO?  Why would Tommasone even let it come to a vote if the answer was no?  Maybe GFP was squeezing GA for campaign contributions and when he didn't get it he taught him a lesson by public smack down!

It actually doesn't make sense that Tommasone would keep moving the project forward to only vote NO.  What's with the public humiliation????

I would actually love to hear from committee members who thought it was okay to mislead a developer into investing in a project that they had no intention of approving!

The more I think about it, the more I believe GA had every right to be pissed.  Tommasone must have cost his family at least $20k on a project that ST and GFP never intended on approving.  That all after the planning/zoning board unanimously approved it.

You're right, something really stinks.

Have you seen some of the judges around here? Nobody here is placing anyone in anything. With 2 open County judgeships it makes more sense than this suicide run. That only helps ANG.

If you don't like GP for judge let him run for County clerk/Congress. No candidates there either. The circular firing squad must stop. It's only helping the DEM machine keep its death grip on the sheeple.

Rotterdam Republican Committee Meeting January 27,2010

Chairman Buchanan spoke about a flyer that went out for Nicky DiLeva (endorsed by democrats) shaking hands with Assemblyman Amedore. He said that the Assemblyman did not support Rotterdam in the past election cycle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Assemblyman Amedore shouted back,  "I didn't support the republican ticket because Steve Tommasone didn't give me my zone change in Rotterdam and it cost my family alot of money!". Then he said that he went to all the town gatherings in the county that night.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chairman Jim Longo got up and made an acceptance speech. He announced the date for the Reagan Day Dinner for April 22, 2010.

Ok....we already know that the picture ND used in her campaign did not have GA's blessing. There families are friends and was takien awhile ago.

Zorro has also explained exactly why GA said what he did about his zone change being denied.

So it appears that the committee has been hoodwinked!

And by the way.....who is the present rotterdam chair? Anybody know?

I think not endorsing Mertz was a smart move simply because Mertz couldn't win the primary for HIS seat.  But after that GP has made some bold political statements and moves that border on politcal suicide.  This time next year GP will be done, just like Mertz, Steve, Joe Joe and the rest of the Town GOP losers.  I just wish the county Dems would quit picking up the GOP leftovers and traitors at the expense of long time, hardworking party people.  Sooner than later the stench from GP's antics will permeate into the DEMS camp.  (And that's a bad thing?)

Would love to see fresh candidates and fresh ideas from both sides.  Not the same old same old.

Thats why I like GA.  The ripple effect if AS wins will be to payoff GP and other GOPer's at the expense of long time DEMS.  Mark my words.  Don't think there is a lot of enthusiasm for AS because of the GP factor.  Enuff is enuff with this picking up former GOPers for Dem appointments and candidacies.  I for one think its time someone in the DEM party stood up and said what many of us privately think: stop with the roses and candy to the like of Judy, Ang, Holly etal.  Infidelty runs rampent thru society and it has taught us one thing:

Once a cheater always a cheater. I wouldn't trust AS and GP as far as I could throw them!

I agree Peeper, thanks Peeper LOL

Who's the chair?  Good question.

Pretty sure it's not Longo, word is that if he is now supporting primaries, he'll be in one himself, just like the one FS will be in.

Rotterdam had that opportunity with M.Oconner, B.Mcgarry and B.Littlefield. They received a good lion's share of votes.

They ran a clean campaign, funded by 'their own efforts'. Stood by their conservative ideology.Fresh ideas!  Not beholden to any party, political bosses or anybody or anything else! It was refreshing!

They just couldn't make it in rotterdam's politcal cesspool!

I agree with Bumble...the Rotterdam residents missed out on a great opportunity last fall.   And because the majority of our residents couldn't/wouldn't vote past their "party lines", they will never know how an entirely new type of administration would benefit them.  Therefore Rotterdam remains the same ole same ole, status quo, old boys club...pick any cliche you want.  And to add salt to the wound, this adminstration is WORSE than the last one!

It is probably time to start thinking about moving up and out of Rotterdam...'cause it ain't goin' change anytime soon!  Even if we are able to elect a new Supervisor in 2011, it will takes years to clean up the mess being created now!

Bullcrap  They were drinking the same koolaid as Mertzie.  Hurt them in the big picture.  And privately they know it.  OConnor especially was hurt by Mertz.  Kiss of death imho.

McGarry should have kept his enrollment as conserv.  The change to GOP is a sinking ship.

Again you are feeding into the rotterdam political cesspool fueled by rumor! None of what you have stated is true...AT ALL!! AT ALL!!

All of these gentlemen have a personal respect for one another. They have stated this openly. And if having respect for another human being is called bullcrap, than that is just more proof of rotterdam's political cesspool.

As far as BM changing to rep.....at least he is 'trying' to do something to rebuild the mess! Is that more bullcrap? Is that how you recommend rotterdam get fresh faces and ideas in both parties? Where, what and who would you suggest step up to the plate. Everyone who tries to step up to the plate gets rejected by the 'good old boys club'. The reps take no one new and the dems take the rejects!

Honestly....let's stop the unsubstantiated rumors! Let's stop treating politics as a sporting event and start working toward representing and SERVING the residents!

Perhaps GP will join AS in his liberal socialist dem agenda....perhaps? I'm sure the liberal socialist dems would welcome him with open arms.

Then tell me who's drinking the koolaide....k?

Green Lantern (Gerard), you're kidding right??? Read my posts!

How about you advising Mr. Tommasone that it was no problem to sign the contract with Blue Moon (aka MDV's company)?  He/you should be disbarred for incompetence.

Don't worry, DEMS plan on pulling out the NYS comptrollers report and pointing out how inappropriate it was!

Perhaps if this was an issue, the Attorney General would have brought it up...guess not!

Also, what exactly will Tommasone or MDV be disbarred from? Private industry? Dolt.

Don't worry TBV, we can write in crayons if it helps you follow.

It was a reference to Mr. Parisi's counsel to the then supervisor.  If you need he'll, just ask and we'll speak s l o w e r for you.

You must be hanging out with GFP's lapdog a little too much.
