SCHENECTADY -- Mayor Brian U. Stratton today picked Mark Blanchfield to be a City Court judge.
At the mayor's announcement in the City Hall rotunda, Blanchfield said he was humbled by the appointment and hoped to parlay his experience as a local lawmaker and attorney in private practice into being a good judge.
Blanchfield will take the seat of Judge Vincent Versaci whose appointment to be Schenectady County surrogate was confirmed last week by the state Senate. Versaci replaced Barry Kramer who was elected to the state Supreme Court in November.
