So let me get this straight...the Town Republican committee chose to not endorse Mertz, because they felt he did not represent them or the party. The ensuing NNTP challenge was a courageous effort, according to supporters.
Now, the Town Republican committee chooses not to endorse Amedore, because they feel the same things. More specifically, they have concrete reasons why they feel Amedore is self-serving, and not there for the people. There is now a primary challenge from Parisi. Shouldn't all the NNTP support the political process (not Parisi, just the process) since it is the same situation?!
The Rotterdam Reps are running the former party chair - former town attorney - and self appointed town councilman, and trying to sell this as a populist challenge to the entrenched incumbent Amedore. Parisi's bank account is stuffed with Rotterdam tax dollars through his party chairmanship and the "no bid" contract his law firm secured because of his rank within the Republican Party.
Put Amedore and Parisi side by side and ask yourself who profited more because of the position in the party or elected office.
There is no proof that Amedore profited, but actually quite the opposite. There is proof that Parisi and the Town Republicans assured Amedore would get the zoning changes requested. So Amedore invested money based on their word, then on the 23rd hour, the assured zone change did not happen, causing him to lose the money invested, based on empty promises.
So to clarify my position, I don't think they are both the same. George's private business doesn't depend on his postion as assemblyman to make money. He has not received one penny outside of his Assembly salary. As a matter of fact, inner party squabbling may have lost him money.
I don't see Parisi attempting to mend things with the county and state reps, or find common ground to move the party in a new direction. The Rotterdam Reps are looking to start a populist movement with a politically entrenched candidate in Parisi. If the Rotterdam Reps were truly looking for a populist candidate, O'Connor, or McGarry would have been a better choice.
The Reps do not have much to pick from. GP is a little on the sleazy side. Amedore is just a dope expecting to go far on his looks. As for McGarry--forget it. Anyone in business should kick him to the curb. He has NO understanding of the business community. He is truly out for himself. Wouldn't want him to represent my interests ANYWHERE.
My definition of transparent in your case Cic is "seeing through" the BS. I see "right through" your posts as self serving dialect that feathers your nest! Or serves only your justification as basis for fact. Simply put you are a figment of your own imagination.
The joke is really on the DEMS because if Ang pulls this off he will thumb his nose at the Dems and hire GP as his counsel, T Donavon as his admin asst and KR as his press secretary. What the hell are these Dems thinking??? I tried to tell em.
If Ang and GP are in cahoots.....we can only assume that you will be voting, supporting and campaigning for GA...correct?

Well its not that easy. I am undecided on who I am supporting, it changes day to day. I'd have to say right now as things stand I am forced to hold my nose and get behind Ang. BUT that could change depending on some unforeseen circumstances. The only sure thing is death and taxes.
If you ever want to know why your party is the biggest laughing-stock around, just read some of your statements like this. Completely moronic.
Leadership, like yours, is what put your party in the position it is now and will keep it there.
Leadership like mine? excuse me? What leadership role am I in right now? Other than helping GP run for Assembly. I'm sorry you don't like what I have to say but you can still act like an adult and agree to tastefully disagree. Our rotterdam committee is clearly split right now but I don't see how that is any reflection on the current leader. (VP Chair Dick Karp) As for Mertz, if a committee chooses not to endorse someone, basically because they felt he was no longer electable (due to him NOT being able to play nice in the sandbox) then that does not make it ok for him to join in with Amedore and sneakily work against us. At least what GP and his supporters are doing are UPFRONT and CENTER.
