The conservative party is your guide? Aren't they the same people that put dems in office in rotterdam!? Sorry not taking their definition of conservative! Once again there is more to leadership than voting the way people tell you to. Especially if they are part of a bunch of hacks purporting to be conservative!

black spidey -

your lack of any form of a reply as to what GP has done puts this case to rest.

he was in charge of rotterdam GOP and had a majority on town board and look at them now, he had plenty of opportunity to display leadership and CHARACTER!

Do you actually believe that the votesmart scoring is compiled by the local conservative party???

Nothing improper with Rotterdam GOP’s endorsement of Parisi

I am a Rotterdam GOP committeewoman, and I take offense to the recent accusations by George Amedore’s campaign that our endorsement of Gerard Parisi for Assembly was somehow illegitimate [May 11 Gazette].
I was present for the meeting and all those in attendance voted to endorse Mr. Parisi. Others voted by proxy, which has always been customary for years.
The only slick political games are those of the entrenched politicians, who will do almost anything to hang on to their power. Chairman Thomas Buchanan and Mr. Amedore know that they have used proxies before, but now that the vote is against their wishes, they somehow claim they are improper.
There were 25 votes for Mr. Parisi, out of 31 in attendance. Even if one or two people, if present, had voted differently, the outcome would have been the same — overwhelming support for Mr. Parisi, little support for Mr. Amedore.
Perhaps Mr. Amedore should look in the mirror to discern why the Rotterdam committee does not support him.
A fair meeting, properly noticed, was held and Rotterdam voted. Just because someone doesn’t like the outcome is no reason to discredit our vote.

“There were 31 votes last night and [Amedore] didn’t get one,” Parisi said Friday.

"There were 25 votes for Mr. Parisi, out of 31 in attendance. Even if one or two people, if present, had voted differently, the outcome would have been the same — overwhelming support for Mr. Parisi, little support for Mr. Amedore."

Were these two at the same meeting?
What is the break down of proxy votes to members present?

sal difference is GP was a political chairman not a holder of public office. He gave republicans the ability to win elections, which they did at least before RAC started sabatoging them. That is leadership. How you can criticize the town chairman for maintaining a 5-0 majority is beyond me. Once elections were over it was out of the chairman's hands. If you want to disagree with what the board did, that's  fine as long as you keep your comments directed to the board. Directing the comments at GP is  just foolish.

Nice post Little Sal, it just proves how "I'm running against Amedore because he is not Conservative enough" is a total crock of chit. Too funny, as I said months agao, no assemblyman in the entire state has a more Conservative voting record and GP can't find a single "Liberal" to run against?       Comical and sad at the same time. Everyone can see right through it.

As I stated before, let him primary and get crushed. Amedore is wildly loved in Montgomery County and Rotterdam accross party lines and Amedore will have the endorsements of the Conservative Party and the Independence Party's and will cruise to victory in November.

If GP was true to his words and party, then running against GA would be the last thing he would attempt to do. But we all know this has to do with everything else besides Conservative ideology.

blaming others again?

criticize the chair for maitaining a majority????  are you delusional????? Denny? Renna? Stan? all lost!!! dont even get me started on the denny endorsement??  Signore, mertz, tommasone - i believe had all won electons prior to GP being chair.

on his watch they fell apart and lost the whole thing, does he even accept any part of blame for that?

I am done talking about this until county has their meeting and gives their endorsement.

i cant wait to give who ever comes around collecting signatures for GP and ear full!!

The local reps 'did' have a great team that held office in rotterdam....I've give them that one! However it went down hill from that point. For 'any' party to not only endorse a sitting town board member JM, but actually pin him against one of his own JS was just the beginning of the down fall. I don't believe RAC  had any hand in that brilliant decision.

Taking a sitting county legislature and endorsing him to a lower position, AGAIN, pinning him against one of his own, I believe was not a direct result of RAC.

Then the reps run a campaign on actually supporting a taxing district for REMS! I don't believe RAC had any hand in that brilliant move either.

GP is the town attorney, town rep chair AND represented not only REMS, but Golub and Galesi!!! I don't believe RAC had any hand in that brilliant move either.

The NNTP garnered much town support in opposition of both the reps and dems. Although a brilliant move for the people, I don't believe RAC had any hand nor would be bothered with rotterdam's political cesspool. IMHO

Again....GA has not been tarnished by the cesspool of rotterdam politics, which is heavily in his favor!

It has been less than 2 and a half  centuries since my alias was last used. Then, as now, it was invoked  to foster the principles of a representitive form of government. Then, to create, today to preserve. You throw out terms such as conservative without thinking about the meaning of such words. To be conservative, one must aim to conserve something. In the hopes that those whom invoked  my name in the past did not do so for naught, I hope you are  attempting to conserve the principles they risked life and limb to create. For it  seems obvious to me that in my time, if one ran for office to further their own wealth, they would be run from town with the masses close upon their heels, pitch fork and torch in hand. Some of the greatest men this nation ever saw died without a penny. For they devoted everything they had , gold and blood alike, to the cause. Now, not 2 and quarter centuries later, you  have among you a man who said that he made his decision based not on the good of the whole, but for the good of his own wealth. To make this worse, he is defended by the serpent as a conservative.

I ask unto you: what is he conserving and is that what you believe your forefathers spilled their blood to create?

Nice post Little Sal, it just proves how "I'm running against Amedore because he is not Conservative enough" is a total crock of chit.

Yes it is a crock. I thought GP was going to primary GA because he didn't help in the last local elections? Noooooo.....the local reps can rest assure that their loss was at the cost of their 'brilliant' decisions!

GA's attribute is that he has stayed clear of rotterdam's political cesspool. A cesspool that has blackened GP.

Yep, there is no elected official in State Gov't who has a more Conservative voting record and GP makes the mistake of saying he's running against GA because he isn't Conservative enough? How can anyone call that open, transparent or honest? When you can't even be honest with your constituents about why you are running, what does that say about your character?
