Islam in of itself is not violent, just like most Christians don't follow the beliefs of the Westboro Baptist Church.

Islamic terrorist are attempting to blow up planes, trucks, and going on killing spree's at our military bases.  You compare that to a bunch of wacko's holding up signs that read "God hates fags"?  Even at that extreme, that is pretty mild compared to the Islamic nuts.

Yeah Christianity never did anyone harm!!!

So because of previous atrocities committed by Christian fanaticism(on a global scale prior to reformation), we must now ignore Muslim fanaticism and the atrocities committed against us?  That "everything is relative" argument is suicidal.  I wonder if there are American apologist in the Muslim world?  If we started cutting off the heads of our enemies, would there be people in the Muslim world apologizing for Americans,  using the - "we cut our enemies heads off, so I understand why they cut our head off".

I'm not so sure you are capable of having adult conversation.

No, we don't excuse attacks.  No where did I say that, but I understand sometimes you get confused.  But let's not go demonizing other religions because it makes understanding the world easy, because it isn't, and to make such broad strokes puts everyone in a bad light.  If Christianity were judged in such a negative light based on it's most extreme (WBC, Abortion doctor killers, Catholics, Mormons) then it can also be broadly considered an bunch of wackos.  Hell, one read through of the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is enough to think Christians must be daughter sacrificing freaks.  However, we know better for the most part.

Islam has as many different groups  as Christianity, and lumping them together is like saying Lutherans are bad because crap the Orthodox Christians are doing.

Yeah GB--I was only kidding.  What is your definition of a conliberal?  I spoke to several Pakistanis tonight re: this latest terrorist attack attempt.  THEY were all horrified.  These folks enjoy their life here in the US.  They are doctors and lawyers and feel the impact of these lunatics.  Not all Pakistanis and/or Muslims are terrorists.  Unfortunately, the terrorists of late are all Muslim.  That shouldn't indict the 99% who want to live her in peace.

If you Cons want to get your underwear in a bunch you need to be concerned not only with these "Mom and Pop" conservative churches that keep popping up but the Mom and Pop mosques as well.  The new one on Albany Street is surely under surveillance and I believe rightly so. (though I would suspect most mosques are)

Exactly Boomer, of late.  Terrorism exists all over the world, in many cultures.  From the Basque, the Tamil Tigers, to Cech rebels.  Or early Amercian settlers trading small pox ridden blankets to Native Amercians is all terrorism.

Stein-very good post.  It will take Cis until tomorrow to figure it out.  Hey Cis what about those Christian Nazis who killed six million Jews and another five million Poles, Gypsies, etc.?  Cis you are pretty good with the generalizations and prejudicial statements.

Don't be fooled! Not all muslims are in this country because they like us....they don't. How many times do we have to come up with excuses for our cowardly government? How did Nepolitano not connect the dots for the Christmas bomber? How is it that obama spends almost his entire 1 1/2 years, being seen on tv, almost daily, trying to sell his healthcare and yet the terrorist's attacks get a 2 minute 'ou ah' speech?

How can we even say we are a country when we don't even have any boarders? Administration after administration have failed to address our boarder issues. And as good old Rev. Wright put it.....'the chickens have come home to roost'.

Bloomberg's first words are.....'well, it's probably just some disgruntled person who has a political issue with healthcare'. We should ALL be insulted by such a statement. And every media outlet called the terrorist....a WHITE MAN!! God forbid they should use the word muslim AND terrorist in the same sentence. The truth is that the liberal media, as well as obama, want to 'play nice' with the muslims. Is it working yet? NOT!

I'm sorry to say, but the liberals look at a terrorist and somehow think their terrorist behavior is 'our' fault and that we need to 'understand' them and 'apologize' for them. Let's not forget all of the stress the time square bomber was under since they were foreclosing on his property. Please, spare me the sympathies.

I'm sure we'd all be singing a different tune IF that bomb had gone off and hundreds of women and children were killed!

What's it going to take for some people to see what is in front of their faces? One of their loved ones blown apart? A nuke  that wipes out their state for decades? What exactly will it take before everyone realizes what a cowardly government we have running this country?

Oh BT get off it.  Do you know how racist AND ridiculous you sound?  My daughter lives close to Times Square and she isn't running around with your sentiments.  Nobody is apologizing for this terrorist--including Muslims.  Obama is weak?  Right let's water board the kid.  You're assessment needs some fine-tuning.

They say the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. I guess that is the case with you and your daughter.

My nephew is a cop and was in times square, his 'first hand' information is clearly not in line with your daughters. But like I said, the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.

As a side note, I'm glad your daughter is ok and that the bomb failed.

Quoted Text
In his effort to bow to the rest of the world, President Obama even offered a thinly veiled apology for dropping the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In Prague, he talked about the need to banish nuclear weapons and said that, “as a nuclear power — as the only nuclear power to have used a nuclear weapon — the United States has a moral responsibility to act.”

In making that statement, Obama demonstrated stunning naïveté and ignorance of American history. Obama seemed unaware that U.S. nuclear capability was a deterrent keeping us safe throughout the Cold War with the Soviet Union.

As former Central Intelligence Director James Woolsey told me, “Peace depends on freedom, and it depends on defeating the people who would destroy the peace.” Woolsey observed that, in the 20th century, the United States defeated five totalitarian empires in three wars, leading to a proliferation of democracies throughout the world.

After living in Schenectady/Rotterdam for a certain lengthen of time - do you automatically become a moron ? or does it require diligent effort ?
