By SKIP DICKSTEIN, Staff writer Last updated: 11:26 a.m., Monday, May 3, 2010 SCHENECTADY -- Investigators suspect the fire that is consuming an abandoned flea market in the Vale neighborhood was deliberately set, Fire Chief Robert Farstad said.
Firefighters were called to 950-952 State St., at 10:23 this morning to find flames in the windows. Fearing a roof collapse, firefighters evacuated the building and are pouring water on it from the outside.
State Street is closed between Swan and Eagle streets.
NEWSFLASH: According to my City Hall spies the Schenectady assessor is ready to pursue other "options". Is a trade with Rotterdam in the works?
Perhaps?
