And with that comment, I would like to tell Mr. Supervisor that he is in that same position. He's an elected official, and we would appreciate if you stop giving us the bonus and just stop showing up. Maybe you can go and do all the work throughout town that you promised to do on the days you don't show up for your elected position. How's the Little League field coming?
Maybe it's just my mood tonight, but there's just so much B.S. that you can handle over a period of time. He wants to give it to people like that, and he wants to make so many promises, then he flat out lies to people as far as how he followed through on his promises, but he doesn't want to be called on it? He says that he has all this spare time, but any time he's asked to do something for the Town Board, he fights against it. He goes out of town when there's meetings he's supposed to be at, ones that he publicly fought against whether they were even going to happen (I'm talking about the agenda meetings that are important and need to be held). Then, there's the promises of all the work that he was going to do at the Senior Center, the work that he didn't lift a hammer to do, just contracted out the work, then the promises to the children of town that he has not moved forward on at all. How long should they wait for his promises to come about? Soon, they won't have a reason to wait anymore, as there won't be any fields for the children to play on, but no one screams that, instead, we're just supposed to sit back and enjoy the circus. I'm just tired of it. He's the one that brought up how much time an elected official has to work, I just thought I would turn the table and see why he's working so much, and getting so little done, even though he tells everyone he's doing everything.
Believe me, Boomer, I try to be better than that, and usually I am. Maybe I'm having a bad day, maybe I've just taken all the B.S. I can.
Sorry Kevin. We are all entitled to a bad day. Forgive me.
Didn't realize the FDG had made proises to do work himself for the betterment of the Town. Being very familiar with the senior center, I would have welcomed some improvements there.
You are a good and decent individual who, I think, really cares about the well-being of this community for other than personal gain. I am a Democrat who is totally disenchanted with FDG. Your comments and points are well taken.
Just curious since we really don't know what is wrong with Eunice, if the family is looking at collecting a life insurance policy off the the town. Could there be more money coming to her estate by keeping her in the office of town clerk? I'm not trying to be gruesome here. Why else would her family that loves her, not encourage her to resign? I certainly wouldn't want to see my father/mother humilated by many town residents that want answers on her absence.
She was a great public servant, but now in many people's eyes she is one of the biggest abusers of our taxes. Can't the family see that?
EE has been saying for years that her family wanted her to stop running for office and retire...now that she is technically retired they seem to have no problem with her continuing to collect a salary, benefits and stipends for a job she is not doing.
I made a public plea to EE a year ago during the notary scandal...that she should voluntarily surrender the Notary...and that she should not allow these issues to grow and overshadow her many years of service...that she should leave with the legendary status she earned...I can still hear the sympathy posse crying foul...but look at the rapidly growing resentment for what she is doing. It's unfortunate that EE chose to end her career this way...which will likely be by force...rather than a graceful exit that would have prevented the hostility she will now take with her.
Maybe she didn't resign so it didn't look like she was following kelly. No one wants to be in agreement with her even if they agree with her. I was at the last board meeting and though del gallo has made many negative comments against rems when KR started bashing them del gallo started defending them... I think its time for KR to realize no one listens to her...

Every resident has every right to speak at a public meeting. And it is the responsibility of that city council, county leg or town board to LISTEN!!
At the city and county level, they disrespectfully don't even do that!

I don't know where the town got this 'one day per year' thing, but EE doesn't EVER need to show up from now on in. She just needs to take her oath(which she did) and cash her paychecks. Here's just a theory...how much does assisted living run these days? I'm sure $77,000 would put a big dent in that annual cost...

Wouldn't be better to just pass a resolution making her Queen of Rotterdam for $53K? The we could hire a clerk that would be required to work MORE THAN ONE DAY in 4 years as FDG suggested that is all she's required. That's a win win...Eunice supporters can continue fleecing the taxpayers for a title only no show job, and she will be out of the way for the those people that are on their knees kissing a** and positioning themselves for the clerks job.

Has anybody proposed this? FDG could win some supporters if he came out and called for a referendum on the Clerk position, making it a 2 year term again.

you can't change the term of an elected official in the middle of the term -- the most you could do is change the term effective January 1, 2014.
