Why? because the gumbas dont know how to follow directions.....they just pat each other's asses in the locker room.....

Well Mr. Severson you seem to have it all figured out!

Okay, let's put that to the test. Wasn't it you, Tony Jesenski, Diane Marco and the ilk bellowing at a town meeting not to let the board hire a deputy town clerk for a $1700 (+/-) stipend. Oh don't do this EE is a beloved public servant, yadda, yadda....YES it was! Then you all turned around six months later and said oooooooooooh let's hire a deputy town clerk at a cost to taxpayers of over $32,000 all while paying EE to sit her a$$ at home and collect a paycheck. WHY YES IT WAS! You seem like a puppet to me Mr. Severson. You and Peephole make a good pair!
WHO CARES ABOUT EE.....she's done her 'duty', yay,,,,good for her and her family and friends....here's your plaque now enjoy your retirement......
......future?........yup....it's comin' whether we want it to or not........we can plan now or wallow in our feel good niceties(warranted at times just not long term planning) or we can MOVE ON.........

Mary--you are nothing more than a bully. And clearly you don't know much because you can't get any of your candidates into office. After all this time, all you can do is b!tch about EE. She has outsmarted you on so many occasions it makes me laugh. RS your plan sounds doable but only on paper. Is that why you call yourself the voice of reason?
the problem with eunice is - she cant remember how to get to work - some one will have to drive her - maybe we can get a town employee to pick her up and drop her off maybe get her groceries while they're at it on town time
we are paying for nothing so a new clerk may be named and get to sit in office for over a year before the next election
or we are just paying for nothing till the next election for town clerk
as for retirement she gets that also
what a waste
maybe i will be so lucky as to work the system like her!
Talking to each other is better than talking about each other
Senders--don't push that thinking--remember she won the election against a "young" up and coming star who had lots of ballot lines. The only people running on the senility line would be TB.
Eunie is smarter than all of you dolts put together.
She's a life time politician. How smart do you have to be? Obviously she wasn't re-elected all these years because she ran a tight ship.
She is/was a very nice women though. And that's half of what politics is about. The other half, and more important half in Rotterdam, is being able to give the town away to your cronies, at the expense of everybody else.
Senders--don't push that thinking--remember she won the election against a "young" up and coming star who had lots of ballot lines. The only people running on the senility line would be TB.
Keep in mind that Rotterdam voted in a "deceased" man to office.....so ANYTHING is possible in the world of politics... people vote with emotions
it's all about persuading the public --is it not? sometimes the facts are irrelevant
and Yes, that up and coming star will keep shining!!! we should expect great things from her in the future
Senders--don't push that thinking--remember she won the election against a "young" up and coming star who had lots of ballot lines. The only people running on the senility line would be TB.
That because she doled out favors! Thats what rotterdam does!

First, I don't bellow. Second, when the Tommasone attempted to appoint a Deputy Clerk it was WITHOUT Mrs. Esposito's requesting or approving. Read the statute regarding Town Clerks -- the First Deputy Town Clerk is cleary intended to be someone appointed by the elected Town Clerk. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Deputies (yes, state law allows up to that) can be appointed by the Town Board WITHOUT the Town Clerk's requesting or approving .. but the First Deputy clearly must be requested/approved by the Town Clerk -- then the Town Board sets his/her compensation. Significantly -- when I questioned the GOP controlled Town Board's attempt to appoint a First Deputy Town Clerk -- Mr. Parisi (then the Town Attorney) chose to resubmit the proposal but called for a Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics (which falls under Health law and not Municipal law) ... on that point the GOP controlled Town Board had the state law on their side and I did not speak against that. I didn't speak against it - because the law was on their side and it does make sense to have someone designated as the Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics just in case there is a absence in the Town Clerk's office.
Finally and most importantly, I am not a puppet of anyone -- I don't clear my public statements with the Town or County Democratic Committee or anyone else. My statements come from my personally held beliefs. Believe me .. if I was NOT such a freethinker .. I'd probably be further ahead politically. But standing on principle does have its consequences and I am more than prepared to pay those costs.
