I would like to see Tommaselli take a shot at it. Although I haven't heard anything from the reps yet. Anyone else?

Tomaselli is the son of the realtor. He is a chiropractor and his is a lightweight who comments on this forum. However, he has youth on his side and that is what makes him look attractive. Reps are a mess. Thank TB for that. Clean out the barn again...in the Rep department.
In keeping with the normal incompetence of the local Republican party, they will likely announce their endorsed candidate very late in the election cycle after naming an individual, having him/her withdraw, and then settling for someone who can't win.
By the way, have the Republicans named an opponent for Tonko yet? NO. They will either allow him to run unopposed (a travesty) or the Reps will announce a candidate in the 11th hour, rendering him/her little more than a token candidate, a sacrificial lamb. Serious Congressional races began last year.
On a related topic, I have heard whisperings of a candidate who is interested in running with the Independence Party. The name I heard is Tomaselli. Is this the realtor? I thought that he is a Rep. I also heard that he may look for the backing of the No New Tax Party. Anyone know anything about this?
Why would anyone seek backing from a non-existent "Party"? Anyone who wants to file an independent nominating petition can do so under any name they want...including "No New Taxes".
Tomaselli probably needs to grow up a bit more. But he is probably the only Rep worth running. As fosr NNTP---I can't believe we're still talking about those fools.
Chris Tomaselli would be a great improvement. He knows the issues and is a life long town resident. He also understands that more taxes aren't the answer.
After last years disaster you would think they would look for some new faces. Well, probably not.............
I have to agree that Tommaselli would be the front runner for the rep party. He is young, but perhaps that is what this town needs is to bring fresh, clean, new ideas to a town he has always lived in...(I think)
And I also agree with Benny that with last years disaster, perhaps the reps have gotten it together now and will endorse a qualified, a chance at winning, candidate like Tommaselli.
If they, the reps, are foolish enough not to endorse Tomasselli, which wouldn't surprise me, he should seek an independent line. He has a lot of support in town. He appears to be an independent thinker, has some conservative views and would do what was in the best interest of the residents of rotterdam.
But time will tell.....

The NNTP is a non-existent party, much like the Tea Party is a non-existent party. They are both loosely organized independents who wish to circumvent the monopoly the corrupt two party systems have on America. The network of people associated with the NNTP is still accessible and most likely expanded over the past six months due to the media exposure and unpopularity of Obama and both political parties.
Gadfly, you are correct that there is no NNTP chair to grovel and beg for an endorsement. But I'm sure the number of volunteers working for a candidate who is representative of those independents(NNTP/TEA PARTY)will out number the Republican volunteers.
Calder has atleast been somewhat active since retirement
