Whether we agree or not on who the reps endorse, we apparently have no choice but to back and support him/her!

Pray they don't endorse a democrat - given their track record

Let's hope they've learned from the past!

Not that I've heard. I think the choice should be between parisi and tomaselli. But right now, I'll take anyone they can give me!!! IMHO

Bumble, what does Tomaselli have over Salamone? I'm not trying to funny, or argumentative...I'm just looking for a simple explanation.

I'll give you one TBV.  Altough I don't know Tomaselli, he doesn't appear to be a tool of the Republican
party leaders.  He has no history or alliance with any of the "sects" within the local party establishment.

IMHO, both Salamones have been puppets of the local Republican party.  Does that mean that the
party bosses owe them an endorsement?  It is not a qualification in my assessment.

I would like to vote for a candidate who is fresh and uncompromised.  One who is above the games
played by those in the party and who will represent me, my family, friends and neighbors.

I respect that post. I think you're the first one to offer their opinion, instead of spewing garbage.  My opinion, however, is that just because a person aligns himself with a party, doesn't mean that they are disqualified from political service.  Often candidates that have seen firsthand the ebbs and flows of the political process are valuable ones.  It could go either way.

I agree with you TBV that experience should be considered a qualification.  Aligning with and subscribing to a political party ideology is
certainly of paramount importance in receiving an endorsement.  Supporting the causes, objectives, and candidates of a party are also important.

What I don't agree with is seemingly being manipulated by the party leaders to act as an "attack dog" in a smear campaign or being encouraged
to enroll in a political party of your opponent (e.g., WFP) to attempt to gain control or influence elections.  To me, that questions the integrity, sincerity,
and honesty of a person.  I know that the scheming occurs every day in the wretched game of politics.  It reduces the open and honest debate of
ideas and adversely impacts elections.  IMHO

I want to support someone who is above board and who exhibits character.  I want to vote for someone who I believe in, rather
than simply against his/her opponent.

I said it from the beginning--Wayne Calder will win this election.  The other candidate has no ledership qualities.  Calder is a proven leader.  Reps need to get organizaed.  Is Buchanan still the chair?

No leadership qualities? He's an eagle scout, a respected boy scout leader, and the founding treasurer of a non-profit organization....Not bad for a 25 year old kid... How many of us have done what Salamone has at his age?

Yes....his parents must be proud!!!

HOWEVER....this all doesn't amount to a hill of beans in rotterdam!! Example....FDG!!! He too has a fine resume....but......he's probably the worst leader EVER in rotterdam!

FS is in lock step with parisi and santabarbara........and people in the county don't trust them anymore. Well, that is word on the street and at the water coolers anyway!

bumble

i disagree

i think john merts was the worst leader ever in rotterdam

he used his power to get his own asessment reduced

he was to much of a coward to vote on king georges zone change

he more or less ran around town telling people he was the police cheif

he tried banning atvs

he blew the walmart deal

and

he ruined the republican party never to rise again
