And btw, ND leaves a lot to be desired...anybody running against her?  Is Wayne Calder up for GP's seat?

Yup, he is & if he gets in it will just be perpetuating an already festering wound!!  As for AB having it over AB, I have known AB for many years & had much respect for him until his recent antics.  To out & out lie about things that are so easily proven to be incorrect makes me rethink his character.  Say all you want about GP, but everything he said was pure fact and was not disputed.

This present tb couldn't shine the shoes of the last administration. That's how INCOMPETENT this circus act is. During their campaign, they were ready to hit the ground running. Well, we're 4 months into this circus act, and they still don't know how to make a motion. Or for that matter 'when' to make a motion. FDG falls asleep, BG 'pretends to be on top of things, but OBVIOUSLY does not have a clue. And I swear MM is playing interactive games on his ipod during the meeting. They are ALL way over their heads. And to think that one of them is actually in charge of an entire school! Scary! I guess that gives some insight on why the Schenectady schools are doing so great, huh?

Hell, remember in the beginning how the attorney, Lacardi, seemed very 'protective' of this board and did ALL the talking for them? It appears that he is just as embarrassed as the rest of us are. He just sits back and rolls his eyes.

Nah....can't compare this bunch to ANY other town board. They are clearly in a class of their own. IMHO

I had no issue with MM, but ND was a little odd.

MM requested spliting the BAR nominations because he didn't know Ms. M'ski's (spelling) qualifications.  Looks as though at the agenda mtg. he had no clue what the BAR was and someone told him afterwards.  He indicated he wouldn't want to sit across from her on grievance day because he questioned her background.  Here is an example of how a rookie can research properties:

Google MM & his wife KW and you will get this link to property purchased;  http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=913199&category=LIFE&TextPage=4
Under "Rotterdam" you will find they purchased 1313 Princetown Rd.

go to the following link;  http://64.132.212.43/imate/viewlist.aspx?sort=printkey&swis=422800&streetname=Princetown+Rd
Scroll down to 1313, go over to the Tax ID column and click on 48.5-2-26 to get property info.

Here is the County Tax Info for this parcel.
Now go to the far left and click on "View sales history data".  You will see the transaction for $120,000 dollars from an Executor's Deed.  This is a legal requirement when someone passes away and has a will that goes through probate.  If you hit the "back" button on your computer you will go back to the property info and you will see the assessed value at $175,000.  So the sale price was an estate liquidation and does not represent fair market transaction, hence the purchase price cannot be used to argue for a lower assessment at the BAR.  Review of other Ranch homes on that street based on the Rotterdam OARS website that are comparable;  http://www.rotterdamassessments.com/main.asp, are also in the same assessed value range.

Now I have absolutely NO real estate exerience whatsoever, yet I can readily find this public information.  I will admit that I have successfully grieved my own taxes and was awarded my reduction at the SCAR Small Claims Assessment Review.  Bottom line is that anyone can/could be qualified to serve on the BAR.  Fairness is far more valuable than experience as a qalification for a member of the BAR!  IMHO

Good work Avon!  Sounds like MM is probably going to grieve his taxes.  Hope the Bd of Assess Rev is as "nice" to him as he was to Ms. Lawler!

this info is all over the internet boomer. You don't have to be a genius to find this information. Nor do you need real estate experience.  Anyone who is looking for information can point and click and find anything.

If I pointed and clicked my way to find a criminal record, it doesn't mean I'm a cop or a lawyer...yes?

If I pointed and clicked my way to find information on heart surgery doesn't make me a heart surgeon...yes?

So pointing and clicking your way around the net for real estate or tax info, doesn't mean you have real estate experience....no?

BT stop looking for a fight.  It was a declarative sentence.  "I hear you have lots of real estate experience." Had nothing to do with looking on the internet.

For somebody who is so busy doing "good works" you sure are argumentative.  You would think the simple joy you must get from taking care of the poor and poor of spirit would rub off on you in some way.

Simple sentence re: to Avon.

I dont really care what the office rules are for hours worked at the TC......The fact remains that this town needs an enema from those that carve it up and pat each other's butts.....leaving the crap behind for the next generation.....pack up and retire already.....Florida is waiting......
