Where is Brian McGarry in all this?  Working with the Dems, as usual?  For someone who apparently wants to get into the Republican fold, he has a funny way of showing it.

This should be a strong indicator to all those with a say in the Town or County Repubs.  He hasn't made one peep!  I take that as a clear indication of where his allegiance lies.

Yeah...so what?!

No letter to the editor? No press release? No NOTHING!  He should be at every town board meeting speaking against this issue. He's in on it, like he was during the last election...

I agree with Bumble...it's always the SAME residents at the TB meetings fighting the SAME issues.  Other residents (and I'm talking mass numbers) must get involved in order to show the current admin that they cannot go about their merry way without resistance.

Metrograft will "spur development"? ROTFLMAO!! How can the Gazetto still print this rubbish?

They will do just like they did at St James Square, Robinson's retail "mecca", The Van Dyke and the Big House. Take your sales tax money and make it disappear.

One person ain't gonna cut it? Why would I go to a meeting and speak if that's your logic? I'm just one person.

The truth is, MANY PEOPLE is the ONLY thing that will make a difference.  What I want to know is, why can't Brian McGarry be ONE of those people?  The "only one person" line is old, Bumble.

Hey...question here.....does the present chair of the rotterdam IDA, Mr. Mallozzi, get paid for that position or is it strictly volunteer? Ifthat position is a paid one, it appears not to be the case now. In fact it appears to me that there is no need for our local IDA at all.....right?

Motion to hire Board CEO – Motion to hire Scott Krikorian as Chief Executive Officer
of the Town of Rotterdam IDA at $10,000 per year
effective June 1, 2009 to evaluate and
enter into an employee agreement made by Bill LaRoe, seconded by Rick Poltorak;
motion passes.

I don't know if Mallozzi's position is paid or not.  It appears that Krikorian is paid $10K / year.
He remains in that position until, I presume, May as he has a one year contract.

I recall reports that the former Chairperson Santabarbara had reportedly refused
to accept a salary for his work for the Town.  Was this his salary for being the Chair of the IDA or
for his work while representing his company, Chazen Engineering?

And, I agree that if the Metroplex is taking over the economic development affairs of the Town
of Rotterdam, the Rotterdam Town IDA is no longer needed and should be disbanded.

Yes I agree...you are just one person. And if you were the only one involved, it would not accomplish anything.....I agree with you.
But if ALL or most of the residents became involved, it would make a huge impact.

They won't. The IDA will become the Metrograft's #1 cheerleader. I have to say that BM was a vocal opponent of the metroplex but where is he now. He should take the lead. Afterall he sought the seat of Supervisor he should stick by his convictions. Don't understand his silence.

Has anyone gone to any of the IDA meetings to actually hear what they all have to say?

Thanks for the update truthontaxes.  I did see in the minutes of a meeting from earlier in the year that he was
in attendance.  You are correct that he did resign after which he was apparently terminated. (see below)
