How can COs be given when the sewer hookup is privately owned and to my knowledge no deal was made with Galesi to allow Sync to continue using them when the buildings were occupied?

The rezone and sewer situation looks like it's an excuse to force the apartments to close as someone has another use for the land and the apartments are standing in the way IMHO.

Quoted from GrahamBonnet
I stand corrected, he was paid and it was last December before he was on the town board. I asked him today since I wanted to be sure. Apparently he said it was also a continuation of the previous contract with REMS that was done earlier, and he did not originally write that contract. He said there was no conflict of interest to represent them.

So let me get this straight:
  • GP is the town attorney throughout 2009

  • In November of 2009, he is hired by REMS to represent REMS to negotiate a tax payment deal with the IRS while still being the Town Attorney.

  • His other "client" (town taxpayers) in December by resolution pays REMS $120,000 so REMS can pay the IRS settlement that GP settled himself on behalf of REMS
.
  • REMS pay GP for his services

Sounds like a good Christmas bonus for GP and the firm Parisi & Sacoccio

Is that really legal?

I'm not an attorney. I don't know if it's legal or not. All it sounds like to me is that he made a good buck. But isn't that what Brick is doing too? All attorneys are slime.....well until ya need one.

TBT, you'd think that since your alias has the word truth in it, you'd actually care about the truth. Apparently not. The Agreement with Rems had been in effect since the beginning of 2009, and was extended. The contract had....get this....ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the IRS settlement. This was payment for services. It doesn't matter how REMS chooses to spend the money. Whether one thinks REMS should be the provider or not, anyone with half a brain could understand that once you pay for services, the provider can do whatever the hell they want with the money. Hell, they could sit in the parking lot burning $100 bills if they want. So I'm not too sure what your issue is IF REMS chose to use that money to pay part of what they owe the IRS.

Not to mention you say Parisi settled this himself. Even I wouldn't give Mr. Parisi that much credit. Mr. Parisi reached a settlement with the assistance of Paul Tonko. I'm suuuuuure there must be something shady going on with Mr. Tonko, too! I'm sure it was a mass conspiracy amongst the Republicans and Paul Tonko to benefit Republicans. TBT you make about as much sense as Mickey Esposito did at the last Town Board meeting. I suggest you return to hiding under whatever rock you came from and leave the politics/business/law to those with a few brain cells.

Bumble, If the Town paid for the services, and the provider PROVIDED the services, why do we care what the provider does with the money!? Do I want them to burn money? DEFINITELY NOT! Do I think they would? Nope! The point is it's their money!

Although I dont live on Rte7 and it's side streets.....the fact remains....in the back of their minds those folks had an inkling.....as for Golub and the
changing happening...atleast the change wont include Indian statues/covered wagons or buffalo......if the zoning changes for the "Iovinella's And Crew"
continue to be allowed, we will all note who has elegance and who just wants their pockets filled..........
