Possible Republican challenger for Gillibrand

Posted: Feb 27, 2010 06:23 PM

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand may have a Republican challenger for her seat.

The New York Post is reporting that former Bush adviser Dan Seanor is considering a run against Gillibrand.

The Republican has been meeting with reported political people all week. The Post also said Seanor has spoken with the GOP Chairman.

This makes the third announced candidate to my understanding; Bruce Blakeman, Mort Zuckerman, and Dan Seanor.
Are there any upstate candidates who have interest?

In past years, there were few Republicans who expressed interest in challenging the incumbant Democrats in a (dark) blue
state.  The Republicans must sense a significant change in voter sentiment in New York State for there to be so many who
are expressing interest in running for statewide and national office.

The voters are angry and seeing red, like a bull being 'teased' by a bullfighter holding up a red canvas....dissidents all over.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

I apologize for my earlier post on this link, as the post that I placed is actually to challenge for Gillibrand's former House seat (against Scott Murphy), not for Gillibrand's current office.

I think Gillibrand is very vulnerable even in this dark blue state. Votes 100% with the Obama agenda, sits on panels with Van Jones, and defends ACORN.

New York publishing magnate Mort Zuckerman has decided against running for the Senate this November, he announced late Tuesday.

"At this time, it is very difficult to see how I can devote the necessary time to either a campaign, or to working in Washington, if I were to win," Zuckerman said.

Gillebrand is a weak candidate but still has a better shot at pulling it off than others mentioned.  Harold Ford might have done the trick.  But clearly he was told to back off.  There is not as much anger now as there has been against Obama.  I will be surprised if Murphy loses the seat.

If you notice all the tax increases in the health-care bill only take effect after Obama has left office and when they do take effect there will be a very loud opposition to them and the whole mess of how to pay for the program will fall on the shoulders of someone else.

Gillenbrand just stabbed Patterson in the back. She's is a horrible flip flopper and echo for Chuck Schumer. Don't forget she started with big tobacco. She is all over the map on Second amendment rights.

If the REPS had any sense they would get Lazio to move to this race. Unknows are not gonna do it. Dan who? As far as Murphy he is finished. Vote for tea party patriot Patrick Ziegler with Faso and Jimmy out.

Latest poll (3/2): Gillenbrand 44%--Pataki 42%

For an incumbent to be below 50% is not a good sign. She is vulnerable and the REPS need to find an electable candidate.

Not true. The retreads won't run. The no names won't place if they do. The super conservatives will not support them anyway. Democrats retain all the seats statewide.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
