I believe 81 Reps. are attorneys in the House and Senate, vs. 123 Dems...but those could be old numbers.  Another website indicates that 31% of members of Congress are attorneys. I love when people blame lawyers for everything.  You might as well blame garbagmen, or secretaries.  Very foolish.

GL is absolutely correct.  He didn't appoint himself.  He had the backing of the TB and the town committee.

Why can't anyone out there accept that Gerard just wants to be considered for the 105th.  He has the support from some of us town committee people.  Why does there have to be an undertone of trickery?

Angelo and Gerard can be friends and business partners and still be in different political parties.

thats fine and his right as a citizen.  then just go out collect some signatures on your own and primary for the spot.  why the article in the gazette? why stirring crap up with the committee?  why does he continue to make the republican party look like the right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing?

how much say does the town of rotterdam committee have in actually endorsing amedore?

this whole thing doesnt pass the smell test.......

I'm one who will not collect signatures for Parisi to run for Assembly whether Amedore runs for Congress or not.
I believe that Parisi is solely to blame for the demise of the Republican party in the town and the county.

Neither will I campaign for or vote for Gerard.  This move will further fracture the little that is left of the Republican
party in Schenectady county.  It may never recover.

Welcome to totalitarian one-party rule.

That is the undertone HE created, by his decisions as the Rep Chair.  GP didn't make sound decisions as Rep Chair, why would we believe he would make good decisions as Assemblyman?  This is a sham.  Don't get fooled by the smoke and mirrors, watch for Angelo to run as a Dem.  That's who this is meant to help in November.

LS are you  now saying GP can decide what  stories  the peoples' gazette will print? The gazette  doesn't print anything the republicans want, now all of a sudden you think GP can operate this mass conspiracy? Get a life!

If GP doesn't know how to use the Gazette to get stories out, then he really was a failure as the Rep Chair.  He had no problem getting out the message about FDG's litteracy.

This message board informs a lot of residents of local events.  I'm guessing that Justin may have obtained the
scoop here and called Gerard to confirm rather than Parisi calling the Gazette.

The lawyers lobby is one of the strongest lobby in this country and that's why the Dems won't adopt tort reform in their health-care bill. Here in NYS a few years back the state legislature was going to control auto insurance by passing a no fault insurance bill to lower cost. After the bill was passed my insurance actually went up as did just about everyone I asked about their auto insurance. The lawyers will never pass a bill to help the residents if it means it will affect their income, they will never give up their right to sue and that's why they want to be involved in congress where the laws are written. TB your example is very weak.

Anyone think it could be a trial balloon to see if George really has the support he needs to win again in the 105th or in another elected office?  If George goes on to another elected office, then his seat still needs a candidate now doesn't it.  Maybe Gerard is toying with the idea IF the seat opens up.  He was not adamant about a primary challenge.  Gerard does NOT want to destroy the Republican party despite what some of you say.

Maybe it's the Reps plotting with the Reps to see the reaction?

If you think it's all a plot to help Angelo, then was his pointing out FDG's illiteracy a plot to tick off the voters so they would vote for Frank in the Supervisor's race?  Yep, I'll bet he was conspiring with the Dems and Cons all along.

That's a cute anecdote Cicero, except GP didn't say that FDG was illiterate. Mason interpreted the letter GP sent to make GP look bad. I've seen the letter, as has the committee. This is the point...just because Mason is contacted doesn't mean he will run a story, and just because he runs a story doesn't mean he will do so accurately.

The REPS lose every town and County race. First they blame Mertz and the NNTP. Then they blame the media and bloggers. Then they blame Eunice. Now they are blaming George Amedore?

of course they blame Eunice she's handing out the best spots at price chopper or the malls
