Yes Malebranche is retired.  He is in to antiques now.  Still very connected in the medical world.  What does it matter how old he is?  You people are just laughable and a little pathetic.  Are you all that despondent that you have to attack every minute thing that goes on in this town?  With all the real lawbreakers that worked under the last administration how do you guys have the nerve to speak out against Eunice.

EE has a damn park named after her.  Did you think they did that because she was an UNKNOWN who has done nothing for this town. You guys better get yourselves together.

Alleykat - nobody is questioning her friendliness, previous work or if she's "done something for this town" ... the point is her admission of guilt on a notary law violation, which is a serious offense in NY (and 49 other states).  Even how or why her name on the park was questioned at the time, but that's another issue, long since buried and forgotten.  This verbal and printed admission of guilt isn't so easily swept under the carpet.

I understand she's retained counsel already concerning this .. which is probably a very smart move. He's probably cringing at her verbal admission, but I'm sure he'll move to have that removed from the record soon enough.

MT--I realize this is serious.  I didn't know she had retained counsel.  Agreed probably a smart move.  I just don't think that it is as grave as folks seem to think.  I would bet at the most they will take her ability to notarize away and at the least, because of her record, a slap on the wrist.  Yes I understand MT that it won't be so easy to sweep under the rug.  But it is the manner that these vultures go after her that I find  disturbing.

Of course, I defer to you on the state of this because you surely know more than I do.  I will call her this week to lend support.

On another note, I don't remember there being any commotion about the park being named for Eunice.  I do remember though, that two of the neighborhood children broke their arms the first day on the skateboard track.

Alleykat -
Who are the lawbreakers from the last administration, and what did they do? Based on your posts, you seem to know that I did not
support them, so you should know I am not asking in their defense. Still, whatever it may have been, it does not excuse EE. You
must realize that legally, none of comments made in her defense, or the actions of anyone else, are affirmative defenses.

And on the softball park...it never should have been named after Eunice. That was a resolution proposed by John Paolino and
passed by his administration, but never should have been. As I and others familiar with the history of that League tried to tell
Paolino at the time of the proposal, if the park was to be dedicated and named after anyone, it should have been the founders
of the League - Phil and Phyllis Palmer. If not for them, there would be no Rotterdam Girls Softball League...and they are the
ones who brokered the Butterfield's donation of that land to the League. The park was named after Eunice for the same reason you
defend her actions today - out of love and respect for Eunice, and her many years service to the town. As admirable as she has been,
it does not justify ignoring the names that rightfully belong on that park, or excusing illegal acts IMO.

Oh hell no - don't assume I know more than you ... everyone has their own knowledge and information.

I do remember the kids breaking their arms, but, correct me if I'm wrong, weren't some of the park supporters/neighbors critical of it being named after her, feeling it should have been named after more active supporters of the park?  I can't remember the one gentleman's name that it was expected to be named for, but it seems to me he was related to Sandi Hughes at Rainbow daycare center?  I dunno, my info/memory my be flawed - I've done a LOT of driving in the past 72 hours.

Ah, maybe THAT was it.

Phil and Phyllis moved away (they were neighbors) - I think they went to Florida, if memory serves me correctly.  Great people.

lying about who people are on legal documents is wrong....even if you know them......everyone has rules to follow.....following the rules in this case wouldn't have killed anyone.....and if she felt so
bad---SHE could have gone to them..........

in this town whether it be the clerk, supervisor etc,,,,,we have taken the doing something for my gumba a bit too far......that is why there are rules......

and again I will state: if this is/was helping those poor poor seniors get their pittance of STAR,,,,how pathetic....they should be up in arms and with pitchforks at the capital, just for having the state make
them grovel and this become an infighting issue.....we wouldn't even be having this hazy conversation if it wasn't for the systemic disease of our state and all it's gumba gangstas.........

By her own admission and the notary public law, Eunice committed a misdemeanor.  If found guilty
by a judge or jury, she will have a criminal record.  Nothing to do with if she is well liked or a great public servant.
She violated established law, intentional or not.

I agree in reality it's no big deal.  I just believe that she should be held to a higher standard then the average person.  I also realize so many people like her, and why shouldn't they.  Being a public figure, on the other hand, our town needs to make a statement that intentional things like this will not be tolerated.  Next time someone makes a mistake like this (well intentional act), they will be looking to what happens with Eunice and as prescient.

I don't spell check!  Sorry...
If you include "No offense" in a statement, chances are, your statement is offensive.

Ok ally......you seem to shoot from the hip without knowing what the hell is fact or fiction.  As far as the park being named after EE....it was clearly political. The rightful 'residents' got shut out of the process. Gee, where was EE's compassion then? Why didn't EE do the right thing and refuse this political ploy and give the recognition to the rightful contributors? Nah....she likes the spotlight. Clearly just another self serving politician that broke the law!

Also ally....you stated that the last administration(the real lawbreakers) broke the law. We are all still waiting to hear those facts cause we are sure that you would never spew unsubstantiated, accusations....right? Or is this just another liberal socialist spin? They gotta love ya! We are waiting!

Simply said, EE's actions were illegal if, in fact, she notarized a signature for someone who didn't appear before her.   If the current homeowners are getting a tax reduction based on the eligibility of the deceased person, then that is a PROBLEM for the town because the other taxpayers are paying more than their share.  Adn if the Town needs to represent her, the taxpayers will be paying again for this situation!

Yes, this is a problem; don't downplay it!  Rotterdam DOES need to be held to a higher standard.

They should just cover everything up like they used to do. The people have spoken. Ask the Gazette.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
