The Capital District Transportation Authority isn’t just in the bus and train station business. The authority also encourages people to consider bicycling as an alternative to using their car. Through a recent federal grant, CDTA is making free or discounted bicycle racks available for destinations such as public buildings, schools, libraries, churches and private businesses. The Capital Region Bike Rack Program, a partnership between the Capital District Transportation Committee and CDTA, has $50,000 available. Up to $1,000 can be spent for racks at any one location, so as many as 50 new bike racks could be provided. Having additional bike racks available would make communities more bicycle-friendly, advocates said, encouraging more people to cycle. ..................>>>>...................>>>>...................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01601&AppName=1
