DelGallo's $52,000 private secretary has already made back her pay for the Town.  She picked them up a grant worth $50,000--so I have been told.  She is very connected and a great gal besides.  How much did Lynn Fiorillo bring in?

You really need to get your stories straight because whomever is feeding you this information is clearly
giving you misinformation. The Town has a new grant writer named Sue Lombardi, SHE is the one getting
grants for the Town, NOT the confidential secretary.

Where's the other 2 large? Pass around a chicken bucket at Mallozzi's-lol.

Lynn Fiorillo is a great person and has bigger fish to fry. In fact a whale. You have not seen the last of her.

KUDOS Benny, I have to agree with you here!

Yikes, I hope that "Sue" is a Rotterdam resident.

Giantfan........when I vote for someone I expect them to be ready willing and able to do the job they campaigned for. To come to the table with a vision and a playbook with things highlighted other than revenge, political or self serving motives. There is no learning curve in this arena. Just like a president, a governor, a mayor etc.....! At the least I would expect them to know how to read. Is that too much to ask?

Have you seen there playbook?  Do you know for sure they don't have one?

So presedents don't have a learning curve?  They are just supposed to know it all?

You are making a lot of assumtions with this article.  First, that Parisi is telling the truth that he asked for those documents and didn't go right to submitting a FOIL.  You know, Mr. Parisi the one who was put on the board by the previous administration right before he was removed as town lawyer.  Why would he lie about such a thing?  The guy that had to react to every FOIL submitted by Godlewski during the previous administration.

Quoted from bumblethru
In all do respect, this town board is a bunch of babbling buffoons! It really is a circus act. I don't believe NYS has one....but if they did, there should be a recall of this entire town board! REALLY! I'm serious! That is how bad it is!

So run to be a board member and fix it yourself if it is so easy.  These people have only been together for a short time.  Change takes a while.

Quoted from bumblethru
Someone foolishly posts here that the $52K secretary has already paid for her salary by getting a $50K grant for the town. Big feakin' deal. So add up $50K of taxpayer's money along with the $20K we are overpaying this 'secretary' and the taxpayers are out $70K!!!!! Nice, huh?

I believe what was said was someone heard that a 50K Grant was brought in by the special secretary.  Anyone see the Grant?  Anyone know what it is for?  Who it is for?  If it is true and if it is a GRANT the money is already paid into the system.  If it was brought to the town of Rotterdam by the secretary then that is money it didn't have before.  How can you b**ch about EXTRA money the town didn't already have?

Quoted from bumblethru
I expect honesty, intelligence and excellence in my government leaders, and I expect it right out of the gate! There is no learning curve. And whoever posted it, was correct....none of these people have either not voted in a decade or attended a town board meeting! Pathetic, shameful and laughable!

Well, I don't know what they voted for or didn't vote for.  I know it is your right to vote.  If you choose not to then you have to deal with who is put in power.  As for honesty this is politics no matter how you look at it.  You are never going to get full honesty.  If you did nothing would get done.  Intellegence - Have you spoken directly with these people?  excellence - are you excellent in everything you do?  Don't ask for what you yourself do not provide.  If you are an active helping member of the Rotterdam community then more power to you.  I hope you are.

So Mary.  Is there a 50K grant coming to the town?  If so, what for?  And did Mrs Lobardi get it or did the confidential secretary have something to do with it?

GiantsFan, perhaps you are unaware since you are not in the area, but for the first time in recent memory, the incoming administration had a MASSIVE "transition team" complete with legal counsel. This transition team even purported to swear the incoming members of the board into the office of councilmember-elect and supervisor-elect, though such titles do not exist. What was this transition team doing between November 5 and Jan 1 that they could not hit the ground running? It seems to me that you can't play it both ways: either you are prepared or you are unprepared. The board is now trying to act like they were unprepared though they were preparing for months. It doesn't work that way.

Another tidbit of information: Mr. Parisi was town attorney; he was not political hack in chief. He was not responding to FOIL requests unless something completely unexpected came up that no one knew how to respond to. That is not what is going on now. Plus, Godlewski always got written responses, regardless of whether his request was approved or denied. Facts can be a B!tch.

Above is a link showing that Ms. Lombardi was a rehire from the previous administration.  So, OMG the previous admin had out of town hires as well

Same person.  Same rate.

greenlantern - so the town lawyer doesn't have to look at all the FOILs?

I can buy that.

You are correct, I was unaware of a transition team.  That still doesn't change the fact that these people have not been working together very long.
What also doesn't change is that Mr. Parisi is only a board member becuase the previous admin seemed to force someone out to put him their.  Just like Mr. Surprise was hired for a lengthy time.  Both would seem to have been done for spite not the betterment of the town.

Now I don't know Mr. Parisi or Mr. Surprise.  I can only go by what others here have said.  Niether seems well liked.  Especially Mr. Surprise.
