And at the end of the day, the end of the month, the end of the year and the end of 2011 the Dems are still firmly in control.

"Bad Dem, Bad Dem, what you gonna do?  What you gonna do when they (the Tea Party Patriots) come for you?  Bad Dem, Bad Dem"

Coming to a polling place near you in November 2010.

Enjoy your time in office Pooper.  It will be short.

Peeper, I didn't lost anything except for my faith in this town in November.  And just like I watched during the last admin, I will watch during this one.

Some people are of the belief that when one's (perceived) party loses, they should shut up, as if along with their candidate went their right to speak.  That is simply not so.

Never said that TBV.  I asked you sore losers to stop with the babble about Signore kid, assessment tomfoolery, unethical computer contracts  Blah Blah Blah.  Spilled milk my friends.  No use crying over it.  But knock yourselves out and cry and fight like the little girls you were before and after the coup d'tat.  I could care less

Peeper, once again, if the computer contract is so unethical why have you not filed an ethics complaint against DelGallo, Martin, DiLeva, and Godlweski for continuing with that contract? Surely if it was unethical for the former administration to have the contract, that status remains. As to Mr. Signore, TBV, myself, TB, and GB were not the ones to bring that issue up. You and Felipe and others questioned the ethics of the previous administration. We asked for concrete examples, Felipe brought up the Signore thing, we asked why it is unethical to hire the highest qualified candidate, now you ask us to shut up?

Let's change one fact from the course of events and see how you would respond: Joe Jr. had the highest credentials of anyone applying (true), Joe Jr. stated that if he got the job with the state police he'd leave (true), because of this, Joe Jr. was not hired, and thereafter he did not get the state police job. Peeper and Felipe what would you have said then, that the board let the highest qualified individual go because of the possibility that he may not last?

Again....signore is a 'non issue' for me! At least he showed some honesty in saying that he would take a state police job IF it was offered. And the keyword here is IF! They picked the most qualified and I believe it was the right decision.

Cicero was correct on how he referenced 'loyalty'. That word does not even belong in the world of politics.

The signore issue.....please....ya gotta have more than that!! At least he isn't on rotterdam's retirement/benefit budget line.

And I'll betcha signore can at least pronounce a word that has more than 2 syllables!!!

Peeper, are you REALLY going to come on here and criticize Mr. Signore for not being intelligent because he is a plumber!?

Nope GL just keeping the board real.  Someone poked fun at FDG for "not being able putting two syllables together."  We all know Signore is a DOPE!

Things that make you go "hmmm" ~ that's all I was pointing out.

I ran this discussion past Mertz ~ he wouldn't comment on any of the points except the Signore thread and here's what he said ~

Jr. was the best candidate and was offered the job.  He also said that nobody knew that he was going to get an offer from the state police ~ including the chief.  He added ~ of course Jr. got pulled up to the state police because he was a top candidate ~ and said he would do the exact same thing again.

My only point of bringing this stuff up again ~ was that it was already a discussed issue.  IT was discussed because on the face of it ~ hiring a council members kid ~ it didn't look right.  The facts support the hire ~ but didn't discount the average "joe" from questioning it in the first place.

As far as the contract with MDV ~ are town board members allowed to have contracts with the town?  As for the current administration ~ it wouldn't be the same issue because MDV is no longer on the town board.

Ok ~ this is getting boring.

Heading out of town for the next week ~ we'll catch up when I get back.

So you accuse people of being unethical because of things that make you go hmm? A better question to ask Mertz is this: If no one including the chief knew about the possibility of Signore going to the state police, why would the chief not support the hiring of the highest qualified candidate? Perhaps that's a better issue that makes the rest of us go hmmm. Why is the chief the highest paid police chief in the area if he can't even make the decision to recommend the highest qualified candidate? That seems like a rather easy decision to me...Or was the police chief's issue a political one? Maybe the Chief didn't want a republican in the office....Perhaps that should be looked into, no? After all, you care about ethics issues from the past few years, I'd say that would be significant....

This subject is really old and boring....but I'll bite....k?

I believe it was a political issue with the chief. Ya gotta remember that this was all around the same time as the police commission fiasco. Around the same time that the con party booted brown and the cops took the party over to only continue where brown left off. Ya know....'different faces....same bull$!t?'

This 'dead' issue is really NOT about joe jr. He just got caught in the political line of fire. Joe jr was a good cop, is a good trooper and scored #1. Let's give credit where credit is due here....geezzee!

As far as joe sr......honestly, I don't know this personally, but other plumbers have said that he is a great plumber. I believe he is a 'master plumber'.

I remember hearing that joe sr, way back when, also got caught in the political line of fire when the town was deciding on Grasso or Joe sr getting a town job. I believe joe sr was the most qualified, but didn't get the position. Perhaps that was just a rumor.
