SCHENECTADY Equipment theft at City Hall thought to be an inside job BY KATHLEEN MOORE Gazette Reporter Reach Gazette reporter Kathleen Moore at 395-3120 or moore@dailygazette.com.
A mysterious theft at City Hall has officials believing one of their own may not be trustworthy. On Dec. 15, in the middle of the night, someone broke into the locked building, traveled to the second floor, got through a locked office door and stole a laptop computer and a camera, police said. But it looks as though the thief had a key. “There was no sign of forced entry,” said police spokesman Sgt. Luciano Savoia. “It appears to be a larceny.” The items disappeared from Room 217, a water department office. They were reported on Tuesday morning when workers arrived to find the items missing. In both cases, the city had recorded the serial numbers, Savoia said. “So if somebody tries to sell ’em or pawn ’em, or someone is stopped by police and they happen to run the serial numbers, they’ll come up that they’re stolen,” he said. The laptop had nothing “of a sensitive nature” on it, he added. It’s not the first time City Hall has faced problems from within. In October, a worker in the city clerk’s office was charged with stealing more than $3,000 over the last 11 months. ...............>>>>.....................>>>>................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01003&AppName=1

Dat's aw-right! They'll just write it off and charge our taxes. They'll hide it like Dwayne Johnson. You think his supervisors DIDN'T know? They know. They are all asses.
