Though I oppose his vote on A-11255 that increased the bonding limit and extended the charter of the Schenectady Metroplex, I agree with his voting record on many of the other legislative bills.

As for Rotterdam, where is John Mertz, Bill Sherman, Josh Fitzpatrick and Tracy Donovan? They all work for the NYS Assembly, right? Aren't they are all Rotterdam committee people as well. Where are they on the plight of the town Reps? Why would we give up the leadership role to a on non-Rep like Griesemer?
I can't speak for other than myself. I agree that the Republican party should not be co-opted by Democrats. There needs to remain a viable opposition to the liberal Democratic agenda in Schenectady County.

I don't get the attraction to these former Dems either but they must have something that makes them valuable to the Rep cause. Perhaps?
While it is always possible, I believe it highly unlikely that the ultra-conservative wing of the party will ever become dominant in the Republican Party. For one thing, some of their ideology offends mainstream Republicans -- believe it or not there are moderate republicans who maybe conservative fiscally and liberal socially. ultra-conservatives do not like these types of republicans, who happen to comprise the bulk of the party. to ultra-conservatives, there is no big tent --- it is their way or the highway, and because of this they will hurt themselves in the long run.
for any party to succeed in america at the national level, it must remain in the center --- it is goes too far either way, it can derail.
the tea bag party is a fringe group --- all sound and fury signifying nothing -- it will dissolve into the ether as did the No New Tax Party .

You just don't get it ~ the NNTP guys weren't concernedabout social issues, it's a grassroots movement about fiscal issues.
My understanding is that the local NNTP guys have a candidate to primary Parisi ~ an entire slate for the next election and numerous potential candidates in other townships within the county.
As for Santabarbara ~ until his flip the NNTP supported his re-election. Now I am sure there will be a primary and general challenger to Santabarbara.
As for Amedore ~ sounds like NNTP supports him 100%.

Interesting comment on Griesmer. He has had several people try to save him from the axe including a former supervisor and his deputy. If Griesmer stays, will he stay as a Democrat (NOT) or officially become a Rep?
