We have very little water pressure again. We regained our normal pressure yesterday afternoon. It remained normal until about 1 hour ago. Now there is next to nothing. We are in the Schalmont school area.

I went to pick up 2 grand kids at 11:30 this morning to take them to see AVATAR. (I would recommend it to everyone! It wasgreat), Altamont Ave. and Curry were closed off due to the water main break there at that time.

The town website had information on it around noon, when I checked.  I don't think they can be expected to update it to the very second information comes out.

By the time the Gazette gets around to printing something, everyone will already know about it, or have gotten sick from drinking garbage water - or ruined their laundry cause of the rust/sediment in it.  Nice job Rotterdam - and the Gazette.

On the east side of town.  PD said everything with the ones on our side is clear, roads are re-open.  Huh?  Then why do we still have inability to flush toilets and the water was a trickle.  THe 5 corners didn't affect us here, water was fine last night

It would appear that our infrastructure could use a major overhaul.

I just got a second recorded message from the RPD advising that all Rotterdam residents boil their water until further notice and everyone in the town is affected except Rotterdam Junction.

Geez....I leave town and have water service at my house....come home tonight and nothing! Like senders said, was there an earthquake? I mean what are the chances of THREE watermain breaks? Or perhaps the state wants that 5 cents for all bottled water containers, huh?

I need to catch up here......does ALL of rotterdam have to boil water when it comes back on?

In short yes.. Based on the people I know in town, and where they are, yes, boil your water.

Three water main breaks in one weekend...WOW!  And Rotterdam is adding 261 units at the new Heldeberg Meadows development.  Have town planners taken into consideration the additional strain this new development will put on our obviously already stressed water system?  These water main breaks used to be annual, now they seem to be happening more frequently.   Wasn't there just major work done on the Altamont Ave. water main earlier this year?

Anybody considering purchasing these $300k+ homes might start thinking twice after this most recent failure of town infrastructure.

The main concern now is if the water pressure is needed to fight a fire.
