The U.S. Department of Justice reports

797,500 children (younger than 1 were reported missing in a one-year period of time studied resulting in an average of 2,185 children being reported missing each day.
203,900 children were the victims of family abductions.
58,200 children were the victims of non-family abductions.
115 children were the victims of “stereotypical” kidnapping. (These crimes involve someone the child does not know or someone of slight acquaintance, who holds the child overnight, transports the child 50 miles or more, kills the child, demands ransom, or intends to keep the child permanently.)

those are only the reported cases.........

NEW YORK STATE
Lazio knocks Cuomo as a new candidate for governor emerges

BY MICHAEL GORMLEY The Associated Press

Republican Rick Lazio told state Conservative Party leaders Monday that Democrat Andrew Cuomo has been hiding in a foxhole while Albany burns.
Even as Lazio targeted Albany’s political status quo as out of touch with New Yorkers, he drew a challenge for the Republican nomination to run for governor from a candidate who said he represents the GOP’s anti-establishment “tea party” faction.
The announcement by Warren Redlich of Albany County shows a revived interest in the prospects for the Republican party, which lost its base of power in the 2008 elections.
Of Cuomo, Lazio said, “Rather than provide the kind of inspired leadership the state is hungry for, he locked himself in his office and watched as Albany burned. ... You can’t lead from a foxhole.”
Cuomo, the popular and wellfinanced attorney general, hasn’t yet said if he’ll seek the Democratic nomination for governor. He has also refused to say how he would reverse the state’s fiscal crisis or confront special interests.
Cuomo spokesman Richard Bamberger reiterated that the attorney general is still concentrating on his current job. .......................>>>>................>>>>................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01100&AppName=1

apples and oranges.....

do you think foster care is the least we can do?

BTW the news is full of folks who have procreated then shook their baby or the kid just disappeared later on.....I wonder what those stats are
not to mention the missing/abducted kids.....

I think I will find a way to compare the numbers of aborted to the numbers of abused/missing/abducted........That number would have to be close to 1.3mil/year

I never saw a person stretch as much as you do. But, my dear, you kid no one but yourself.

There are missing adults, and people abused by their spouses. Does that mean murderers should have a "choice" to kill them?

You make no sense sometimes.

Can we get back on topic?

Here's some info about Lazio..........from....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Lazio

Quoted Text
A decisive moment that led to the collapse of his campaign came during a September 13, 2000 debate where he left his podium, walked over to Clinton with a piece of paper that he called the "New York Freedom From Soft Money Pledge" and demanded she sign it. Clinton refused.[1] Some debate viewers were turned off by Lazio's demeanor towards Clinton[2] – and as a result, Clinton's support among women voters solidified.[1]
Lazio has since expressed regret for his conduct during the debate:
At the time, I was making a point about a campaign finance pledge that Mrs. Clinton had made and I didn't feel that it was being honored. I thought that was the opportunity to make the point. On substance, it was right - and on style and perception, it was a mistake, which I regret.[3]

Later, he became the President and CEO of Financial Services Forum. As of December 2005, Lazio was an executive vice-president at JPMorgan Chase & Co. After considering a run for New York State Attorney General in 2006, he stated that for both family and political reasons, he would not be running for any office in that year.
In January 2009, Lazio was said to be seriously considering a run in the New York gubernatorial election, 2010.[4] In May 2009, he filed paperwork with the state board of elections to form a campaign committee.[5] Mr. Lazio declared his candidacy for governor in New York City on September 21, 2009, with a formal announcement in Albany, NY on September 22.[6] He leads incumbent Governor David Paterson by seven percentage points according to January 21, 2010 Rasmussen polling.[7]
In an op-ed piece in the New York Times, Lazio advocated the creation of a unicameral legislature in New York State.[8] Lazio opposes a single-payer government run health care system and supports a balanced budget amendment. He opposes granting amnesty to illegal immigrants and supports strong border security efforts. Lazio supports more aid for legal immigrants and an increase in high-tech immigrant visas. He supports civil unions for same sex couples but opposes gay marriage. Lazio supports legalized abortion in the first trimester but opposes partial birth abortion and federal funding for elective abortions in accordance with the Hyde amendment.[9] He has been a staunch opponent of racial profiling and supports limits on banks sharing personal information. He supports tort reform and the death penalty. He supports expanding funding for public education and merit pay for teachers. Lazio supports renewable energy policies as well as offshore oil exploration to reduce the country's dependence on foreign oil. He has supported efforts to clean up toxic areas with new Superfund legislation. Lazio supports the second amendment's right to bear arms but supports government restrictions on assault weapons. He supports public housing efforts for those below the poverty line and increasing the minimum wage. Lazio has staunchly opposed trying suspected terrorists classified as enemy combatants in civilian NYC courts rather than in the military system.

you seriously cant expect folks with lacking education/means or whatever to carry a baby and raise it or dump it on a system that
works about as good as a dam with holes.....do you?

Do you really think---"procreate for the sake of procreate, like animals".......so we can have institutions no different than animal
shelters for the babies, either right at birth or when CP shows up to take them?

Abortions have been around since humans have.....human sacrifice, thank goodness that isn't done, but, if it was there are laws to
punish the person if done.....

so now you want a baby born to a crappy parent or adopted/fostered by crappy idiots, to what? punish the kid? or is it a God complex?
because THIS is the crux...it's the churches' job to teach and expound their flocks to the ability to discern which is so far inside
a person that the government doesn't belong there......THE CHURCH HAS FAILED.....they were too busy talking about the end of the
world and "evangalizing".......they forgot the basics........

Murdering the born has been around a long time, should we legalize murdering the born and call it "choice"?

Go to Priests for Life.org and find out what "choice" is by clicking this:

"America Will Not Reject Abortion
Until America Sees Abortion!
Show the American people what an abortion is!"

Personally, I could never look at it, but you might need a rude awakening.

I'm a nurse,,,,I have seen all kinds of pictures.....I never said I liked it.....the point I am making is that the parents right start at the time of conception and should remain as such, which ever decision
they choose to make.....once the government is allowed in our lives(and it does a bad job,CP foster system etc VERY lacking) it takes liberties of it's own......
If you have children and the government doesn't think you are doing enough to protect your children(no matter how insignificant the reason) they will 'move in'......maybe they will fine all parents who purchase
fast food for their kids more than 3xweek--they can track this with ATM/DEBIT/CREDIT cards.....be careful....National Healthcare will weigh you as a parent.....and their scales are unjust.....

the far right fails to remember the basic teachings----heaven is NOT on earth and we cant make(legislate) one,,,,"......we shall live as Gods and die like men........".

is that what we are looking for?

Sunnie--Senders has got you on this.  I am pro-life too--and I am against the death penalty as well are you?  I would suspect so.  But Senders makes sense.  Looking at photos of aborted fetuses is not a winning strategy.

Humans are the only animals that protect there sick, lame and lazy.

If you make Abortion Illegal people are still going to have abortions.  The only ones who won't will be those that can't afford it.  So you will increase the # of children that will end up in crappy places and have to do a lot of illegal things to survive.

Growing up in an orphanage is a horrable thing from all accounts that I have heard.  Who is going to feed, cloth, educate these 1.3 million a year children?  We already have tons of children in foster care and orphanages.  So obviously those that want children have a wide selection as is.  We can't even take care of the ones we already have.

Humans aren't animals. Taking care of the sick and lame is what separates humans from animals. Protecting or supporting the lazy is another story.

JoAnn - We are animals.  We spend a lot of our lives feeling bad for thinking certain ways that "society" thinks is wrong.  Compassion is what sets us apart from the other species.  Problem is, some like to take advantage of that very fact.

Do you think the govt. should have the right to protect the born, or should they stay out of it?

The baby has no choice as she or he tries to escape from the abortionist's instruments.

Whether abortion is legal or illegal, it is wrong, and we should do all we can to change the law, plus change hearts and minds.

alleycat, some people HAVE changed their position on abortion after seeing photos. That is why they show them, because showing them is the lesser of the evils. Showing them saves lives.

On a much brighter note, most women who see ultrasounds of their unborn babies, choose LIFE! That's why Planned Parenthood doesn't want women to see ultrasounds. PP loses money.

Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood director, who is now prolife, was helping an abortionist with the ultrasound, and saw a BABY pull way from the abortionist's probe. That's why she is now a prolife ACTIVIST.

Why do pro-"choice: people use this Planned Parenthood lame, worn-out talking point. (sigh)

You could also say, if you make murdering the born illegal, people are still going to murder. THINK people, THINK. You are falling for talking points.

talking point:

not the government's business

talking point:

if an illegal alien(immigrant) was impregnated in the US, then was deported before the baby was born is it a US citizen?

but if it were BORN on US soil it is a citizen?

talking point:

abortions have been going on for centuries via purposeful choice or not
