bumblethru, You are correct. Those of us who ran on the line remain committed to advancing conservative principles and instilling a sense of duty and accountability to those who are elected to serve in public office. Over time, the messengers may change, but the message remains clear. I have been contacted by several people recently who have expressed interest in running for office and who desire to be included on the 2011 NNTP ballot line. This movement is not fading as some want to believe. In fact, I believe that the candidates who run with us in 2011 will fare much better than they did this year. People are becoming aware that a viable alternative exists. The party bosses in the established parties can continue to (try to) diminish what has been accomplished in Schenectady County. The local Republican party leadership can look to blame others for their losses this past November. The longer that they remain in denial, the longer it will be until they return to the prominence that they once enjoyed. And, they can discount our chances in future elections. In fact, I hope that they give us no attention. More later. |

Do you think that ALL the new enrollments like the direction the con party is moving in? Do you think that ALL of the new enrollments like the endorsements of liberal democrats by the con party? Do you think it is just one big happy family? Think again!
If the cons continue on the same path it is following, it also, like the rep party that also lost their ideology, will implode on itself. The dems are just sitting back enjoying the attention and support they are gaining from the cons, while there are some, within the party that are not enjoying it.
Why do you think there were dems, reps, cons (yes even cons) and blanks who voted the NNTP line? I predict that the NNTP will NOT be a 'flash in the pan'.
Of course not every member of ANY party are always happy with ALL decisions. Could the primary's speak any louder then they did??? None of which were even remotely close in ANY race. I think that is the best indicator, the vote counts. The wide majority of the party are happy with the direction of the Party and of course there are some that are not. Majority rules. ALL the new enrolled members that I spoke to like the direction the party was going and thats why they switched. Is there a small majority with another idea, I wouldn't doubt it. |

 The Rotterdam CONS endorsed Steverino for Supervisor. How did that work out? Once Fran Del Gallo crushed Steverino in the CONS primary it was over. The Working Family Party endorsement doesn't quite cut it-lol- As far as the NNTP great news Brad. You are needed COUNTYWIDE especially in the City, Rotterdam and Nisky where the REPS have completely imploded. |

Del Gallo wasn't a candidate when endorsements went out and the Executive Board signed an authorization for Del Gallo to be on the ballot for the primary but of course you failed to mention that. Go figure...  Oh, that's right, you didn't know any of those important facts. |

In other business, Rotterdam’s all-Republican Town Board ratified the appointment of former GOP committee chairman Gerard Parisi to the lone vacant seat.
Parisi, who also served as the attorney for the Rotterdam Industrial Development Authority and works for the firm that served as the town’s privately contracted legal counsel for five years, was approved to replace former board member Michael Della Villa. John Mertz was the only board member to vote against the appointment.
In discussing his opposition to the appointment, Mertz said he questioned whether Parisi’s connections through his law firm could inevitably bring him into a number of ethical conflicts with town business. Primarily, he cited Parisi, Coan & Saccocio’s work for the Golub Corp., as well as the controversial project the company has with the proposed relocation of Dunnsville Road.
“I think a simple recusal [from a town board vote] is not enough,” he said prior to the vote.
But outgoing Supervisor Steve Tommasone stood by the appointment and credited Parisi for conducting himself with integrity while serving the town. He said Parisi has always been forthright with his firm’s conflicts.
“And I believe Mr. Parisi will do just that on the board,” he said.

anbody that attended last nights board meeting knows that rotterdams appointment of GP raises some significant ethical issues.
I am sure the board of ethics and its newly appointed chairman will be on top of the situation investigating throughly and without biasis. But i wonder who recommended the board of ethics members for appointment in the first place........

PG-No kidding? Of course, they authorized Del Gallo to be on the ballot-he wasn't a CONS Party member. Stick to making election predictions 2 days after the polls close. 23 Yankee-lol! Is this what happens when you have an open position and nobody else wants it? |

I know for a fact of two individuals who expressed interest in the position. One of them was Michael O'Connor who, in a previous post, was summarily dismissed by Parisi. I videotaped the entire (approx. 1 hour, 15 minutes) Rotterdam town board meeting. If the volume is such that the discussion is audible, I will post it to YouTube and ask the Administrator of this forum to post the embedded link for those of you who wanted to attend but were unable to do so. |

What a nice surprise Brad. I hope the Admin will put it on this forum. I hear that Kelly Rhinesmith might have a say in the matter and according to those in the know her "bedfellow" is the new council member. The cat lady had reared her ugly head again so to speak. At least that's what my friends at the Sr Center tell me. |

KR is not in any position to lead anything. KR is not in an elected or appointed position of anything.....GP is. So KR is actually insignificant. What to watch is GP and how the incoming administration will handle his appointment. As the rep party implodes on itself, perhaps it will come as no surprise to see GP change his party affiliation as time goes by. Perhaps to the CON party?  Stranger things have happened in rotterdam. |

Gerard is coming to the Cons Party? Hmm, all his "people" are Reps.... Interesting. Who is going to run for this position? Hopefully we'll have many choices to choose from. |
