ROTTERDAM
Some see end to town IDA
Democrats may shift entity to Metroplex

BY MICHAEL LAMENDOLA Gazette Reporter

Are the Rotterdam Industrial Development Agency’s days numbered as an independent authority now that Democrats have taken control of town government? That’s the question one outgoing Republican is asking and at least one Democrat is suggesting it may happen.
The Rotterdam IDA is the only economic development entity in Schenectady County not part of the “unified economic development team,” headed by Ray Gillen. Gillen is chairman of the Metroplex Development Authority and is commissioner of economic development and planning for the county.
When Gillen took the position more than fi ve years ago, he sought to streamline the county’s economic development efforts. At one time 29 agencies, including the Schenectady County IDA and city of Schenectady IDA, provided economic development services, often competing with one another. Today, the county and city IDAs are administered by Metroplex...............>>>>...................>>>>.................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01102&AppName=1

Looks like the gazette cheerleaders have landed in rotterdam. First mason does a 'man crush' story on fdg and now lamendola reporting on the plex/rotterdam ida!

It appears that all the dems have to do is raise their tails and the cheerleaders pick up the scent and follow! Too funny and way too obvious!

Since when do facts stand in the way of a Gazette story?  IMHO, the Daily Gazette is the National Inquirer without the credibility.

I hear that there may be another option coming down the pike to replace the gazette.

how might that work???

the gazette and TU are already sharing delivery method

readership down for both

It was tried in montgomery county and flopped - offshoot of the recorder

there are not enough conservatives in schenectady county to support a paper

Papers are kind of like typewriters. Do you really want to invest in a typewriter company?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

If a local paper would just print the truth without a slant left or right and investigate issues important to their readers a paper would actually attract some more readers. As long as the papers let the government dictate what will be printed their readers will decline because we the people don't trust the government and what they're trying to sell us anymore.
