Parenzo’s denied liquor license, closes

BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter

Parenzo’s Italiano abruptly closed this week after the state Liquor Authority denied its owner a permanent license to sell alcohol due to the restaurant’s persistent troubles with intoxicated patrons.
Chef-owner Daniel DeLorenzo and building owner Michael Parisi applied for a liquor license in November 2008 and had received a temporary permit to sell alcohol when Parenzo’s opened in February. But the Liquor Authority refused to give the restaurant a permanent license, in part due to a Schenectady Police referral that alerted them to “multiple fights in the area of the establishment.”
“Patrons leaving the premise are highly intoxicated and creating a nuisance,” states the Liquor Authority’s notice of disapproval dated Thursday. “The problems are consistent and ongoing weekly. Several parties complain of security getting physical and assaulting them.”
Schenectady Police Sgt. Luciano Savoia said the Liquor Authority was alerted after a rash of incidents that drew law enforcement to the restaurant at 11 N. Broadway. He said the documented incidents seem to involve disputes between people leaving Parenzo’s and the North Broadway Tavern across the street. ...................>>>>..........................>>>>.................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r00503&AppName=1

Parisi's Steakhouse closed. Parenzo's closed. Blame "family concerns" or "remodeling"?

Yeah-Death Ray is right about the renaissance downtown-lol-for bankruptcy attorney's and foreclosure experts.
