I agree that Michael O'Connor would be a great appointment.  Or one of my former political "opponents", Mary Barrie or Mike Viscusi, who are
both Town of Rotterdam residents.

I know Barrie is looking to work on her farm and doesn't want to campaign again this fall.  Viscusi is a definite plausible possibility too and should be considered if O'Connor isn't interested.

BTW Brad, a co-worker of mine enjoys your chatter on Steve and Jackie.  You need to consider a run for the Assembly!!

Thanks huskyhowls for the encouragement.

I'm contemplating many different scenarios for the future.  Some include politics, others do not.  I plan to continue
participating in the debate of ideas with the objective of promoting the conservative ideals of smaller, less costly, and
less intrusive government.

Perhaps, I'll challenge Amedore for Assembly.  I haven't ruled anything out.  I should mention that I have become
friends with a gentleman from outside of Schenectady County who has considerable experience at the state level
with running winning political campaigns.  He has offered his services if I decide to mount another campaign for
elected office.

For now, I plan to enjoy the holidays with family.  The political campaign can wait till the beginning of the new year.

Glad that I can provide to your coworker some entertainment value in the meantime!

Two cents...Salomone is a pretty popular name in these parts...don't they own Grandview Block?  Maybe there's more than one.

I doubt they would...althought like any party, what happens on the local level is different than the National.  Sometimes whackos (Rush) take a conservative message toooo far...and sometimes Dems (Obama) do Republican things!

I'm more concerned with what a person can do, and I don't think Salomone has a track record, does he?

Michael O'conner would be a great choice to fill that seat. He received a good number of votes during this last election. He's knowledgeable regarding town issues and has demonstrated his ability to work with both sides.

I don't know if the reps would appoint him though. Obviously, if it wasn't for his run under the NNTP, one of the other guys may have been elected. No one will ever know for sure.

Why don't they just appoint the individual who received the most votes on the repub line in the town for the town board/county legis races.

Brad, You'd be shocked to know how many prominent republicans (and which prominent republicans) would be pulling your lever and supporting you in any upcoming race

Probably true.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

The latest buzz is that Sen Farley will retire and Assemblyman Amedore will step up. This is leave the Assembly seat wide open. Can't think of a better candidate for than Brad Littlefield.

As far as the Town Bored seat-why should they support Mike O. now? Salamone makes sense-he made his bones on the School Board and would have support from both parties.

Where were these so called 'prominent republicans' in the last election? Running for office themselves or were they the partly leaders looking for and supporting their endorsed candidates? Or perhaps this post was meant to be taken tic.

It's a Republican seat??? That may be how you look at it but I think when residents voted, they voted for a person, not a party and when DellaVilla quits
just days before the new year the residents will see that as a slap in the face because if we go with your logic, it's a democratic seat because the sheeple spoke loud and clear a few
weeks ago.   If Salamone wanted to be a Town Board member, he should have ran for office like the rest of em.

I hope you have the decency to interview the Republican candidates like Mertz and Signore too!!!
