I would highly doubt this.  The electorate backed FDG, I doubt they want to see the "Drama Queen" for this position, (unelected to boot)!  The "candidate" for Dep. Sup. can cast a vote on Board issues, I would doubt you would give that authority to an unelected, non-Board member.  Major voter backlash might occur, which could lead to a new Super. in 2 yrs.  Don't think the Dems are that stupid . . . .

I have to agree with avon on this one.

I would think that Godlewski would be appt'ed for that position. It may be the 2 year plan. Godlewski could then make a run for supervisor. IMHO

hint ... it won't be more 6 months, the plans are already in place

It's Howdy Doody time!   Why do these Democrats need a Deputy Dog?  Waste of money and time.  Who is Diane Martin?  Any relation to Matt Martin?  Is Signore aka the current Deputy Dog?  Who has the inside track on this?  They need a whole lot of other things to happen first.

They BLEW IT Benny.  Pure and simple their FAT EGO'S got the best of em.  Parisi and Buchanan treated the residents of Rotterdam through their appointments like SH*T.  Every last one of the REPS town appts. should be FIRED!!!  The residents have had enuff of Tommasone, MERTZ, Signore and Suhrada.  

The new admin has a huge pile of crap left over from the POWER hungry, greedy, self serving Tommasone Admin.  They got what they deserved; SH*T CANNED!

Rotterdam has always had a Deputy Supervisor and needs to because our elected Supervisor is only part time.  Someone needs to be "in charge" during the day.  You can't pay someone $10,000 a year ( or whatever we pay him, for a two-year term and expect they can run the town on a daily basis.  In the Constantino days he had Frank O'Connor (I think that was his name)who worked full time in the Supervisor's office.  He was an older man and I don't remember what his salary was.  Probably not that much, but he was around during the day.  Joe Signore tapped John DiGeorgio which meant he too was available all day and was already being paid as a town employee.  Why does it have to be a special position?  Why can't one of the already employed civil servants be left to run the day-to-day operations of the town?  I thought Mike Griesemer was the Deputy during the Paolino administration.  John certainly put in more hours than any part time supervisor could because he was retired.  I certainly don't want the criteria for town supervisor to be that you must be retired.

I'll howl in agreement to that.  We need to go back to a Town Engineer.  A real bonafide PE.  They can also serve as the administrative chief over the DPW.  A little multi-tasking and trimming of excessive top dogs will be a welcomed change. Smaller is better when it comes to government. If you need to trim, start at the top not the bottom where the real work gets done.

You might be onto sumptin Husky.    The residents have spoken LOUD and CLEAR!  They want change from the way that Tommasone and Co. did business for the last 4 years.  I told Buchanan two years ago that Steve was no leader........I am glad he didn't listen to me.  HeHeHe

The residents elected FDG as Supervisor...and that is who they expect to run the town!  There is no reason for a full time Deputy Supervisor...the Reps didn't need one.   I'm anxious to see how this unfolds...FDG made a lot of promises and needs to deliver.   If the Dems wanted Bob G to supervise the town, they should have run him as their candidate.

repubs didnt loose their way in rotterdam - taxes werent increased, they didnt go on crazy spending sprees, (the town cant control state mandates)

repubs lost favor with the town - with possible back room stuff, handling of assessment, handling of REMS, they were all in bed together............

just the way i see it, real interesting to see what happens next for everybody.  and who ever said it, they are right    -this goes beyond rotterdam.

Majority voted for change!  A majority of Brian McGarry votes would have broke for FDG.  No doubt about it!  Same goes for the other NNTP town candidates.  O'Connor and MERTZ NNTP votes were never Signore or Suerada votes no matter what! IMHO  Not enough to change the outcome of the council races anyways!  Change is GOOD and the people of Rotterdam deserve better than what they have ENDURED for the last 4 years!

How refreshing....no more "quite frankly's," No more MERTZ, no more Joe gasbag Suhrada at any gov't level, no more J. Sigsnore smugness and no more "I never met a mirror I didn't like" PARISI!! Ahhhhh Many prayers have been answered.
