You're both right. Howdy Doody must the removed, the MIA chair/"candidate" in Niskayuna, all town chairs, the acting City chair. Clean out all the rotten apples. Let Carolina Lazzari takeover and rebuild.

The REP committee (if any) needs to ax them and stop making excuses for idiotic campaigns. The cartoons were just pathetic-this is intellectual political discourse? Stop pretending there isn't a problem. Yesterday was a complete disgrace-especially when REPS won all over the country.

It's not Tim's fault. He's just a puppet who does what he is told. It's not Mertz's fault either. The party turned their back on him, what did they expect him to do? The real person to blame is Gerard Parisi. He let his personal feelings toward Mertz get in the way of the party. Why did Parisi choose not to endorse Mertz? Money! Gerard wanted more money as town attorney, Tommasone tried to sneak it to him, Mertz wouldn't go along with it.

How did that plan work out for you Gerard? Thanks for handing the town over to the Dems. Parisi is the one who needs to go as chairman!

Dontcha just love the monday night quarterbacks? There is finger pointing everywhere and yet there has been months that this stuff could have and should have come out. Why now?

Maybe it takes a humiliating rout to wake you sleeping elephants up.

Put the blame where it belongs-on the pathetic REP "leadership". Yes, it's been known for years but the excuse was always the same-at least they run Rotterdam? And today?

Looks like the Republican Party needs a lot of band aids.  Ego's need to be set aside.  Good leadership will find the common thread that will bring the party together.

MT is right.  The Reps need a reorganization meeting.  I couldn't be happier with all the Dems sweeping Rotterdam, Colonie and Guilderland but the fact remains the Reps need to field candidates.  You Reps should be DEMANDING his resignation.  You have been putting up with his BS for so long you continue to lay down and take it.  And what about GP?  Snap out of it!!  DUMP THEM AND get some candidates that are not going to be scr-wd by your leadership.  It's like a sports team if they never play up they don't get better at the sport.  FIELD SOME CANDIDATES.  Your coach sucks--get a new one.  If you can't find him, check the bunker.  He's in there with Mary Magdalene.

For now you will be dancing with the Dems!

Oh really benny? Are you saying that you knew about the S.T./G.P. money thing that was goin' on that was just posted here? Shame on you if you did and never said a word.  Don't insult anyone by suggesting that we are all sleeping elephants. Without the information, how can anyone make an informed decision?

Funny isn't it, how everyone starts to hear about these things AFTER the fact! What a joke1

Steverino is finished. Paul V ripped him as a RINO this morning on the radio.

Nobody with an integrity will step forward because the horrible REPS leadership. And those like BT that expect any of them to resign in disgrace are kidding themselves. They deserved to lose. Eunice is laughing at you dead enders.

How did Howdy Doody's plan of suggesting to the voters that the Chief and former Sheriff Buffardi supported Lazzari?  I guess he was out having a few beers laughing on Friday
when it came out and he thought that he got the last laugh because Hamilton and Dago are best friends.  He promised everyone that the Hamilton/Buffardi "endorsement" would
put Joe over the top.  I guess his timing was a little off and he underestimated what a few motivated people would and could do after he dragged them into the campaign.  He didn't count on a robo call to 40,000 and 10,000 letters to just about every voter in town after they heard from someone at the Gazette that the insert was set to go 2 days later....

Should have kept it clean Howdy and damn even your wife was smart enough to dump ya and put Dagostino for Sheriff signs in the front yard.

Buchanan has to go.  He sunk more money into the Lazzari campaign because he hates DAGO than he did for Viscusi/Barrie>  I think there may be more enrolled Conservative elected officials in Schenectady county than Republicans......  WOW

Howdy Doody plan-talk about oxymoron. What's his exit strategy? And yes-we sent a meatloaf to his bunker.
Where's Mary M today? lol.

Congrats to the  CONS Party which picked up a town board seat and County Leg in the lovely Holly Vellano who I endorsed over 3 months ago.

Howdy Doody is going the way of Surprise/Steverino. All the people he lied to are plotting to remove him.

Just got off the phone with Allied Moving--they're scheduled to go to Vinewood Avenue before the New Year.

BT knock off the excuses and the righteous indignation (no offense to you Mr. Righteous) and stop acting like your Alice in Wonderland.  Get off Benny's back.  Your buddies I am sure knew everything that was happening...even your alter ego Mertz.  LOL  He dragged down your favorite ticket and now he is so spineless he is sucking up to the Dems.  Can't wait to see him transform himself into a Dem just because he's got an image problem.  LOL     He's going to need a  real job soon.

You lay down with dogs you get up smelling like them.  The Dems got suckered with HV I hope they aren't taking Mertz--will all be forgiven??  Will he get his own reality show?  John and mate plus eight????  The story of a politician who gets dumped by every party.  Don't bother taking the bait--I told you so and I'm busy taking a victory lap.

Time for castration of the Reps first......then, the next step.....keep pulling down,,,,,pushing it off our backs
just doesn't work.....we can pull down the ladder and break it up.....the Dems will fall with it too.....both parties
are relatives of the monkey on our back....and we thought evolution was over-----HA.......

once that monkey is down....we can take it's tools and build a new ladder.....

Benny

Do you stand for anything?  Your whole purpose in participating in the democratic process was to settle personal scores within the Republican Party?  You're a empty vessel just like those politicians you attempt to destroy, but in fact you actually envy.

You're worse than Gadfly.  And about as relevant.

Cicero--get a life.  Benny is right on the money and you know it.  Empty vessel--he has more political savvy in his little finger than all your Republican leaders put together--all two of them.  They couldn't negotiate one win last night.

As for Gadfly--you better believe she is relevant.  Her assessment of your play-book is spot on.

You guys ran a lousy campaign--get some people who know how to run your party and field a candidate.  "Go away.  You have no power here.  Watch out or somebody might drop a house on you."  (Wizard of Oz)

Sorry Cal, did I leave you off the list of irrelevant and frequently mocked?  Political savvy and arm chair quarterbacking doesn't equal leadership and solutions.  I would be suspect of any new leadership within the Republican Party after this mess, because you don't know who is pulling the strings.  Who ever the new leadership is, they better not have close ties to the current leadership or those in the NNTP, because they all have been tarnished.

I know you think I'm somebody from the Republican Party.  You couldn't be further from the truth.  I've never even been registered Republican in my life.  What I can tell you is, I truly did support the NNTP.  Not for the destruction of the Republican Party, but actually for their platform, their class and passion(passion for the right reasons).  As for post election... Two candidates I still would support, two I wouldn't.

Cal, you're 1960's retread looking for a cause or movement.  You still think you're shaping the country by fighting the establishment and social injustice.  Truth is, you and your generation ARE the establishment, Democrat AND Republican alike are the reason this County, State, and Country are screwed up.  Look in the mirror Cal, these problems didn't start 5 years ago.

Schenectady County is in the gutter, and you're talking about political savvy as if it's a sport.  You guys/gals are all a joke.

I have a life - and I don't depend on the outcome of elections for my livelihood.  Maybe Delgallo will hire you back at the senior center and put you back on the government tit.

ROTTERDAM
GOP’s fortune shifts

BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter

A lot can change in politics over the course of two years — just ask the Rotterdam Republicans.
In 2007, members of the GOP were riding high after retaining control of the supervisor’s seat and gaining a supermajority on the Town Board. The Republicans later went on to take control over the fifth seat in February, following the resignation of Democrat John Silva.
The tide abruptly changed Tuesday, after a combined slate of Democrats and Conservatives managed decisive victories in every contested town race. The blow to the GOP left the Democrats with a supermajority on the board, something they could feasibly maintain until 2011, when the supervisor’s position and two board seats come up for election again.
Republican insiders agree that the 2009 election was an epic failure for the town Republicans. But that’s about all they can agree on.
Town Committee Chairman Gerard Parisi blames the collapse of the Rotterdam Republicans on the formation of the No New Tax Party, an independent line that he accused of being a spoiler for the GOP. He also suggested that the state Republican Assembly Campaign Committee might have played a role in sinking the slate of candidates as retaliation for the town committee’s dumping of John Mertz, a counsel for the Assembly’s Ways and Means committee, from their ticket.
“[Tuesday’s] winners were obviously the benefactors of an internal dispute,” he said Wednesday.
Other town Republicans accused Parisi of grossly mismanaging the campaign and then putting up a smokescreen to shroud his own failures. Bill Sherman, a former town committeeman who volunteers with the RACC, scoffed at the notion that the state party had anything to do with the rise of the No New Tax Party during the election and called for Parisi to step down as chairman for mismanagement of the town committee. .................>>>>...................>>>>..................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01104&AppName=1
