Well, looks like the No New Tax Party, which was supposed to steamroll its way to power, according to some experts on this site, instead self-imploded and took down the GOP ticket with it. Only in Rotterdam does this happen.

The creation of the party was a bad idea perpetuated by naive, vindictive people.

Thanks, guys, for all your help in electing Dems to the board.

I love a good joke, that is why I come here.

I dont think vindictive is the correct word.....and it is BOTH PARTIES in this town that has left this
town in it's mess.....it's generational/traditional/reflexive in this town.....nothing more, nothing less
and there is no thought of BIGGER PICTURES......

Just the way the top of the ladder would like us to be as the sheeple.....they divide and conquer us.....

let's get off their merry-go-round.......and give the machine a run for it's money

I don't think anyone really wants to hear that kind of talk...The people who were involved, although many of whom were never involved in the conservative movement until a few months ago, are very angry with the two parties. I saw some the other day who had no idea of what the town and county budgets are. Nonetheless the prevailing attitude was to throw the GOP out wholesale, because the congressmen or some others were not being forceful or articulate enough in dealing with the mess in Washington. I have no problem with that. I found that the Republicans lost several races before when the electorate was mad at Jursynski in the city or Bush in Washington!

It is a free country and people get the government they deserve. That is the beauty of America!!!

Well, you may be correct in part. First, it appears that with mertzie and mcgarry at mallozzi's with the dems last night validates some of your points.

Second, where I disagree, there is a part of the electorate who were tired of the two party system and chose a different path. It IS the American way!

It's not and nor has it ever been about helping the "electorate" in this town or even this county...it's about helping yourself first and foremost....family and friends shortly after.....and for generations this has gone on....and always will...and shamefully there never will be any true way to fix things and so this
vicious circle will continue and those that are elected will continue to perpetuate it....The Repubs, Dems, Cons, or NNTP will promise you everything until
they are blue in the face and come game time....it turns into all lies...Politicians are Politicians...most of them lawyers...which in return translate to LIER!
On that note I say congrats to those who won...and may you stand by your commitments and do those things you ran your platform on having the intestinal fortitued to do the "right" thing and to those who lost thank you for being brave enough to have half the town like you and half the town hate you!

and that is why I say---shrink them/it down......it IS about helping oneself to take care of oneself....with
out the government medicine......just GET OFF MY BACK...........

dont promise me anything except to get off my back........dont promise you will feed me, clothe me,
shelter me etc.......I do that.....

other than that if they want to play spin the bottle amongst themselves feeling like kings/queens---
go ahead,,,,I have my own castle to party in and play dress up......

The REPS sank themselves. They decided to commit suicide by not dumping Howdy Doody.

This is a "suburban party"-lol. So they lost EVERY race in both Rotterdam and Nisky. Down to 3 votes on the 15 vote Legislature. They should meet in a phone booth over there. Not one candidate in the City? Worst is the DA who 10,000 voters refused to vote for again. Sickening dereliction of duty.

Meanwhile in Westchester, Rockland and Nassau Counties the REPS swept everything because they had  leadership and were against more spending and higher property taxes.

Right you are Benny.  Reps should thank Tom Buchanan for this disastor.  I'm a Dem so this all went the way I wanted.  But I did like Joe Lazzari very much and he is friends with our family.  What did they do to help him combat all the negative PR??  NOTHING.  And who's bright idea was the write-in?  That was just moronic.  Do you  think that sent a message????  ROTFLMAO

Get yourselves together.  YOU NEED NEW LEADERSHIP.  IMHO!!!!   LOL   LOL

Smoking Bananas predicted the NNTP would get under 400 votes-I predicted they would get more votes than ALL third partied added together.

Look at Stan "THE" Man-under two hundred on 2 lines-LOL. And as a puppet for Howdy Doody is finished in politics. All RINOs get out and all phony REPS leaders resign in disgrace.

Has Buchanan resigned yet?  What's he waiting for ... this was yet another failure on his part to get out the vote and the message.

Then he doen't lay a glove on Judy DAG letting Mike and Mary twist in the wind. All these idiots must resign-NOW-get out.

It's not Tim's fault. He's just a puppet who does what he is told. It's not Mertz's fault either. The party turned their back on him, what did they expect him to do? The real person to blame is Gerard Parisi. He let his personal feelings toward Mertz get in the way of the party. Why did Parisi choose not to endorse Mertz? Money! Gerard wanted more money as town attorney, Tommasone tried to sneak it to him, Mertz wouldn't go along with it.

How did that plan work out for you Gerard? Thanks for handing the town over to the Dems. Parisi is the one who needs to go as chairman!

The entire top of the Republican party in the county needs to go at an immediate re-organization meeting. Period.
