Thanks to all Schenectadians and community leaders who helped make the Schenectady NAACP’s recent Freedom Fund dinner such a tremendous success [Nov. 7 Gazette]. It demonstrated that, indeed, our NAACP is back — credible, active and a positive contributor to the community. The Schenectady NAACP intends to stand strong for the social justice issues that it has championed for 75 years. At the same time, this newly revitalized organization looks forward to being a partner in Schenectady’s rebirth, helping to create an atmosphere where all voices are heard and all people are valued.
