BTW somebody said earlier (maybe Bumble) that even though some of these folks are not the choice for office they were probably nice folks.  Nobody commented on that.  Yes I am a big liberal dem who wants the dems in but I will say that is probably true and regardless of who they are, even the guys I don't like, at least they offered themselves into public service.  I did not have the courage to step up in my younger day (I also was home with six kids) so I sit now and critique what others have done.  Thoughts????

Well give concrete examples of why he is so bad. Also why because he hired an assessor that a lot of people don't like (do they like any of them?) this means he should be removed after keeping the levy flat, fixing the Police paramedics, working to resolve the Masullo Drainage issue, resolving the 60 year old crumbling water tank issue and paving 100 roads? So you don't like to do studies, you like to act first without research. So you don't want to fix roads, you wait until they need to be dug up at the base. So you don't want to fix the water tank, you wait until it collapses and leave 700 homes without water. So you don't like to get the Police Paramedics department fuctional again, you would rather we not have paramedics. So you don't want to insure complete ambulance coverage, you would rather wait for one to get to you. What is the function of local government?

I think many of you bloggers don't see the forest from the trees. I also know a LOT of you have personal axes to grind. but for those who don't, because you don't agree with him on a few issues, you get angry and want to throw the baby out with the bath water. You will have to live in the town after we go down the circus road.
...examine the facts...

As a casual lurker and a rare poster I have tossed and turned for a few days over this post by Graham Bonnet.  The rah rah rhetoric for the Supervisor and his team borders on fanatical and delusional.  My husband and I enjoyed the days of yesterday when Rotterdam WAS a Nice Place to Live under the administration of John Kirvin and Jim Constantino.  Both of these men had demons, sure enough BUT they loved our town, kept taxes in check and brought a true sense of community to our lives.  Clambakes, rallys, community events, schools functions coinciding with public service.  It was great.  People moved to Rotterdam in droves under the Democrats.  City people wanted a piece of the action.

Then a funny thing happened to Rotterdam.  The long dormat Republican Party seized on personal issues to take control.  Joe Signore Supervisor?  "Give him a chance John DeGeorgio once told me."  He BOMBED!  The Dems took back control, not over personal matters seeping onto the electorate, but for a LACK OF LEADERSHIP.

"John DeGeorgio once again said "Give Steve a chance."  He BOMBED!  No leadership.  He brought in people from outside our community to run for office, run our town, run our lives.  Well the fact is that Steve and his "Band of Brothers" have blown it again.

Election Day is three weeks away and you are pointing GB, to "accomplishments" as if Steve did a favor to the taxpayers.  Without Steve as Supervisor our roads wouldn't have been paved?  No Police and EMS?  The water in Masullo would be worse?  The water tower in Rotterdam Junction would have crumbled into the Mohawk.  Please, please, please.

Graham Bonnet YOU fail to see the forest from the trees because in MY Rotterdam, STEVE BLEW IT!  Just like Constantino and Signore before him.

It's time for a change.

Although I appreciate your thoughts, I believe that you need to be reminded that we lived in a different world and in a different society when kirvin and constantino were in office. The good old days that you speak of, was at a time when mom's were home. Everyone had 1 car. The cops were your friends. Kids played outside without a calender for 'play dates'. There were no leash laws for dogs. No helmets worn while bike riding. Smoking was everywhere. Gas was around $1.00/gal. And everyone worked at GE!  Are you suggesting that we turn the clock back AGAIN, and bring rotterdam back into the50's? Cause that isn't and can't happen.

We live in a different world today. We don't need nor should we want to elect someone who will be reminiscent of the 'good old days'. They are gone and so they should be.

I am voting for mcgarry, because he loves this town and is conservative, cautious and progressive in his ideology. We need a comp plan FOR THE FUTURE. We need smart development FOR THE FUTURE.  S.T. really wasn't ALL that bad. I just disagree with some of his politics. And fdg WILL bring us back to the 'good old days' and the 'good old boys'. That is not moving this town forward. If ya wanna go backwards, than by all means...vote fdg. But it clearly is not what is in the best interest for rotterdam. REALLY!

As far as clambakes and rallies and community gatherings....well I don't fault any administration for having less of them. Again, if you look back on history and bring it through to the present.....times have change and 'we the people' don't have a hell of a lot of time for such things. Nor do 'we the taxpayers' have the money to blow on these frivolous activities.

The point being Steve ia a significant part of past and present elections in Rotterdam.  Just as Joe Signore and Joe Surahda are.  Frank DelGallo and the Democrats give those of us who yearn for a calmer, less intrusive government a chance to heal from the bullying tactics of Tommasone, Mertz, Signore and Surahda.  I can tell you this; what these men and Craig Surprise have done to Eunice  and many of our Senior Citizens borders on elder abuse.  My husband and I are pretty sure that a majority of the town see things our way.  Sorry to burst your bubble.

Elder abuse? Time for a change- in your election losing rhetoric.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Actually, not to be a jerk, but this sounds more like 1996.. gas was under a dollar then... and i smoked in 1996, i used to get 8 gallons and a pack of cigs for 10 bucks..13 years ago.. man have things gotten expensive in a short amount of time.

Still waiting for something postive about the current administration. Good town attorney? Caring assessor? Helpful to small business? lol. It's time for a change. Steve had his chance and whiffed. With the bases loaded.

Many REPS are voting for FDG. One party rule is not positive-either way. The only question is how many other new faces will be on Town Bored?

Must be Tommasone's fault, just like the declining number of clambakes, and the way they bully seniors, and squash puppies on the sidewalk with their jackboots.

Spoken like a true BULLY!  There isn't a sensitive bone in the current administration's body when it comes to feeling our pain.  Election Day can't come soon of enough for some of us.  Negative, negative, negative.
