Letting Parisi be his puppet master and allowing the party to pull the endorsement from Mertz and give it to the "independent fiscal conservative" probably set the party back a few elections.  County Republicans can't find a candidate to run against the DA, or City Council.  Yet they pull this kind of sh*t.  They are losers, and spineless Tommasone will fall victim at the hand of his own party's mismanagement.

Who ever said lawyers are smart?

Well according to all members f this forum he is to blame for H1N1 and the world financial meltdown so I imagine he would be able to take the rap for Mobilmart's woes. C'mon - get creative!

I thought H1N1 was Bush's fault?  I can't keep up on who's fault is whos.

Bush is gone so it must be the fault of the handful of Republicans left in office. GET THEM OUT!!!! Right? Prevailing sentiment here.

How dare you sheeple blame the horrible Super Steve for town planning and tax issues? Maybe someone else hired Mr. Surprise. Let's blame evil Al-son of Sam has been doing it for 6 years.

Well give concrete examples of why he is so bad. Also why because he hired an assessor that a lot of people don't like (do they like any of them?) this means he should be removed after keeping the levy flat, fixing the Police paramedics, working to resolve the Masullo Drainage issue, resolving the 60 year old crumbling water tank issue and paving 100 roads? So you don't like to do studies, you like to act first without research. So you don't want to fix roads, you wait until they need to be dug up at the base. So you don't want to fix the water tank, you wait until it collapses and leave 700 homes without water. So you don't like to get the Police Paramedics department fuctional again, you would rather we not have paramedics. So you don't want to insure complete ambulance coverage, you would rather wait for one to get to you. What is the function of local government? I understand Steve frustrates you because he talks too long and uses too much jargon and detail in his explanations. I understand a lot of you are used to being gaveled down at town hall meetings and he doesn't do that. I understand that he takes time to get to the right solutions, and you want immediate private-sector style response. But he doesn't have that luxury.

I think many of you bloggers don't see the forest from the trees. I also know a LOT of you have personal axes to grind. but for those who don't, because you don't agree with him on a few issues, you get angry and want to throw the baby out with the bath water. You will have to live in the town after we go down the circus road. And no, wake up Brian is not going to win on row F. Stop deluding yourselves. As nice a man and as good as a conservative he is, on the 4th, these wild predictions of Row f victory will do nothing but turn the town back to the same group that had it, rode it hard and put it away wet, like an old nag. You want that?

Like the letter writer, some of you don't want any development, yet you want low taxes. Like the letter writer you are angry that Golub is building a bigger warehouse. Where were you when the county made that deal with them when they moved the HQ downtown? None of you bitched then, even though the county wants to ram that through. Do you really want a public-housing style complex at Five Corners like we have now? Is the town evil for trying to stop that?

...examine the facts...

What does Republican mean nowadays in the oligarchy?  Republicans pandering the the REMS and RPD by pushing a taxing district which would ultimately expand the Town Governemnt and create more unionized town employee. Sounds like something they accuse the other party of doing.  Go figure.

Vote NNTP.

/clap   Seriously GB.. thanks for getting back to the facts instead of mud slinging.. Part of the problem is the average person wants to voice their opinion without knowing the situation in detail imo... Not every issue is Black/White like for example.. no one in the universe wants to spend more government money on something as "meaningless" like a new water tank.. but there are times in life when you have to do things.. like i sure as heck don't want to spend 65 bucks to blow the water out of my sprinkler system.. but if i don't and the winter hits...

Why do you insist that there will be unionized workers? Or town employees, anyway. Whether we have a taxing DISTRICT or not? Why don't you get all the facts? Is that how you run your business?

Hey.....I never said that I wanted the dems in. CAUSE I DON'T! I do want to continue with the real reps and real cons running this town. But, the ones from the NNTP. Mcgarry is energetic, smart and as conservative as they come with a vision for this town. He will have no problem dealing with the hard issues facing businesses and residents.  Mertzie has been nothing but conservative and straight forward with the taxpayers. He has been instrumental in many quality of life issues. When it comes to development, HE is the guy I want looking out and representing me.  Oconner clearly brings his own past record. He also has been instrumental regarding quality of life issues in town. He appears to have his hand on the pulse of this town.

And don't even think that forming a tax district for rems will not turn into a BEAST! Just like Glendale home is. Just ask suhrada....he'll tell  ya! Rotterdam just got hit with major tax increases. We already know that with the phoney baloney decrease this year at the county level, will only turn out to be a double digit increase next year. We are in a recession. People are out of work. Taxes are going up at all levels. And add additional fees that will be thrown at us. And suhrada, signore, marchenkowski and tommasone actually are supporting a new tax:????????

I agree with ya on this one gb......Rotterdam can not afford a democratic rule AGAIN!!!! It's the other 4 that I and many others will be voting for. They are independent thinkers who threw their hat in this cesspool ring of politics JUST to serve the people. No political games, no mudslinging.....just honest, qualified, articulate, service oriented    people that are not beholden to anyone. imho

Spineless is the key word. They all b**ch and moan in private and then go back to into the bunker. They are going to lose again because they stand for nuthin. Expect hiring a big Surprise. The DA race is a disgrace-with all the sttorneys in town? Anyone who admits the truth is "disloyal".

I get my facts from the town meeting when this issue was discussed.  I'm sure there are transcripts.  The meeting before Suhrada suggested putting the REMS up for referendum.  The meeting where Mertz and Godlewski raised the question of the salary increase and health benefits that would inevitably come along with the taxing district.  Tommasone agreed during that meeting.  Have things changed?

GB--get it right.  Nobody likes ST because he has bankrupted the town.  Yes he hired an assessor who is incompetent coupled with rude.  In fact folks DID like Macejka despite the fact that he was the assessor.  Why you ask????  Because he had people skills.  None of which ST, Mertz or Suhrada have.  And that is why DelGallo will win.  Book smart maybe not...but he has people skills and he knows where to look for the right answers.  Signore is a non player.  ST is at the bottom of plenty of what is wrong in Rotterdam. He and Mertz suffer from the same ailment--stupid and arrogant.  Bad combo.  He will go down as the worst Supervisor ever in Rotterdam.  Suhrada is done as well.  The Leg folks ran him out and the Town's people will keep him out.  It will be Delgallo.

WOW....were do I even begin on this post of malarky?
First....s.t. did NOT bankrupt the town. I mean come on now. I'm not voting for him, but let's be real and show some good hard facts. The worst supervisor? Hardly! geezzzee!

Second.....I thought I'd spit out my adult drink when I read how Macejka was a people person. OMG! He has absolutely NO personality at all. Never did. That's why people use to hate to go in front of him to grieve their taxes. The way I see it....the reval, which was orchestrated under the dem rule, with HV's blessing, was a chance for this town to finally get up to snuff with properties that have been expanding for decades without failry paying taxes on them. Like fdg, as mary pointed out.
I almost spit out my drink yet again when I read that fdg was also a people person! OMG!!! He was the best one the dems could have ever picked since everyone and anyone can pull his puppet strings and he'll just go along! Just ask some of the people who's doors he knocked on, on what kind of a people person he is. Yup, just what we need....a people person, who doesn't have a clue. Come on here people. Why do you think the dems jumped from Leet to fdg? DUH!

Third....Mertz arrogant? You must be kidding me here. He is the most down to earth, 'people person', compassionate, educated, taxpayer oriented guys that ever graced the town board. He got the boot from the rep party....that should only go to PROVE, that he'a not your typical 'local' rep. He is clearly and independent thinker that only has the taxpayer's interest in mind.

Forth....I agree that suhrada is or at least should be done. Yet another shot in the foot for the reps. They replace suhrada with an environmentalist and another who wants to give tax breaks to people with inlaw apts, which only means a tax increase for the rest? They won't make it. HV, dago and littlefield will be the top 3 contenders. What the hell were they thinking? Or maybe not!

IMHO
