In broad daylight!
I didn't even know that place was open for business. I never see any cars there. I'm guessing it's the one on the corner of Altamont and Patton over by walmart.

How nice.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

So, Sal, what's your true feeling on the other part of this issue?  If the Dems in the City of Schenectady had taken care of this type of issue there, it wouldn't be spilling over the border into Rotterdam now.  These people rob the station and run for the border of the city, obviously towards where they came from.  If there wasn't so many issues with the SPD, maybe these people would have already been caught somewhere else.

I'm hoping that with the warmer days dwindling we will see a decrease in the 'negative' type of traffic coming over the bridges into the town. When the warm weather hits, it is as if someone opens the flood gates with people bicycling and walking into the town from the city. It's like they plan all winter for the 'opening' days to Rotterdam.

As for the robbery at the Mobil, it is in a prime location for a snatch and run, similar to the cars being being broken into at Planet Fitness. Easy access to the tracks and/or friends waiting on the other side.

That station does not have a history of being robbed as a "snatch and run" operation.  It had been robbed several times more than 20 years ago BUT those were break-in's in the middle of the night.  Since the "gas" part of the operation is not operating at this point, the lone "store" with few folks milling about may have made it more of a crime of opportunity.  And if cars are being broken into at Planet Fitness where are Rotterdam's finest?  Why aren't they more of a presence on that busy thoroughfare. In the old days, Bobby DeCarlo would have been all over that prospect.  Crime in general in Rotterdam has increased in the last 4- 5 years.  Or so it seems to me.

I remember going to that mobile station at night. When it was a gas station. The doors were locked and you could only get service through a little cut out in a window. So they must have know there was trouble-a-brewin'.

The place could clearly use some sprucing up ever since those pumps were taken out. It needs more lighting. Like I said....I didn't even know it was open for business.

Right-As I stated months ago we need a fence. Not only in Mexico. As the City goes down the toilet there is spill over.

Under the 35 Year "leadership" of the City KRATS Mt Pleasant, Vale and Hamilton Hill are ALL in the top ten emptiest neighborhoods in the State. No one can afford the taxes and no one will rent there because of the crime. But they still need 3 County Legislators? That's unconstitutional.
