I can't help but notice ~ every morning as I drive by them ~ the Signore signs up in my area of town.  Here's the kick ~ we never hear anything about Joe, nor do we hear from him.  That has lead me to believe that he is the smartest politician of them all and should win re-election hands down.

As the Republicans implode, Joe will rise to the top.  My prediction, 2011 will be Signore for Supervisor!  I have been saying all along they lack leadership ~ but maybe the leader was just waiting for everyone else to get out of the way so he could return to his chair.

~ just a thought.

You may be right.  Signore seems to fly just below the radar.  He says nothing at board meetings other than to offer motions
after solicited by Tommasone. For that matter, Machikowski and Della Villa don't have a voice either.  Anyone know what Signore's views and positions are on the issues?

  • Golub Warehouse Expansion?
  • REMS?
  • Creation of an ambulance tax district?
  • Development of Route 7 corridor on west end of town?
  • Revitalization of Hamburg Street business corridor?
  • Protection of the Aquifer?
  • Homestead exemption changes?
  • Property Taxes?
  • Infighting in his party??

For that matter, does anyone know of ANY candidate's positions on these issues?  We've seen lots
of mud thrown, unfounded accusations made, and credit being claimed by candidates based on
deception.  But, have ANY of the candidates taken a position on ANY issue?

Smart and Signore is an oxymoron.  Joe Signore is the old Republican guard in town who has grown long in the tooth and short on brains.  He loses to Godlewski.

The real race will be between SuRaRa and Martin.  DiLeva wins big and the EGO is whistling by the cemetary.  Sweep out the barn like the great late Bill Osta said.

The only candidates that aren't afraid to make their views known are the NNTP candidates. Mike O has been seeking the town to formulate a comp plan for years now so future development will be done with some thought and reason. They all want to hold taxes down and cut where they can.

Come on, PuddyCat.  Your credibility is on the line here.  Do you REALLY believe that Martin is even in the same
league as the other candidates?  IF he wins, it will be on the coat tails of Del Gallo.

It will be Delgallo and the dems will win in a sweep.  Folks are just sick and tired of all of it.  Esposito will stay.

Puddy ~ I give you LOTS more credit than you deserve IF you are going to post those predictions!

No WAY does Martin even come close to Surhada and nobody is even paying attention to Godlewski ~ he's not even on the radar.  DiLeva ~ Raucci's Supervisor ~ is toast.  O'Connor wins with the help of Stan the Man.

Agreed ~ Tommasone is done.  I'll also agree ~ Mertz is done.  But count on this ~ Godlewski is done.  Martin doesn't even get out of the gate.  DiLeva breaks a leg down the stretch.  Espositio wins by a length.  O'Connor wins by two lengths and Supervisor race comes down to a shocking photo finish.

If they are sick and tired of it all, why do they continue to elect those from the two parties that have repeatedly engaged in this behavior?
I'm with Felipe, I'm looking at the No New Tax Party candidates.  The best prediction of future results is past performance.  If you like the
way that things have been in Rotterdam during the past several administrations, keep supporting the same candidates promoted by the
same political party bosses.  For me, it's time to try something different.

Cal ~ come on ~ be objective for two seconds.  Martin won't even get in the saddle.  DiLeva has way too much baggage.  Tommasone, Mertz, Godlewski all done because people want change ~ BUT ~ will keep Esposito because Fiorillo is Ego's pick and we see how that worked out for his pick of Stan the Man.  I do think that Stan the Man will help O'Connor win though, without Stan it's a little more difficult for Mike.

Every year like this there is a major upset ~ early pick might be McGarry ~ he's the alternative.

I like the way that McGarry is conducting his campaign.  He is going door to door and speaking with residents.  He spoke
to the Rotterdam Business Association.  He has taken positions on issues including REMS and the creation of a tax district.
McGarry has not been involved in the smear tactics engaged in by his opponents and/or their "handlers".

Don't look at the Conservative Party primary results as an indicator of McGarry's support in the community.  Everyone knows
that the Conservative Party is controlled by the police.  Not exactly a random sampling from the general population.

There's so many aliases on this forum that claim to have "inside" information and spout allegations without proof - just throwing it out to see what sticks, I'd never say that ANY candidate isn't involved in smear tactics.

That being said, there certainly seems to be a lot of Democratic "operatives" on this forum trying to start trouble, smearing names and they're bordering on libel.  Honestly, you don't see that from the Republican party - nor from the NNTP. Think about it.

Getting back on topic, the plumber should just keep cleaning those sewers ... that's what he's best at, IMO.

Not so sure about fdg or the dem sweep. They do NOT have a strong ticket this year. And no body really cares about eunie's clerk/secretary job.

There should be NO ELECTIONS for the town clerk or the receiver of taxes. That is just plain ridiculous!

Bumble ~ why take away the voice of the people?  So that a majority party can appoint these positions?  See, that's where the Reps have gotten into trouble ~ when it was 3-2 Rep ~ they were doing great.  How's that saying go ~ absolute power....

I hear that there is a direct connection between the hiring of Craig Surprise and Mr Raucci, Former Union Pres. Joanne DeSorbo, Planning Commission Chairman Larwence DiLallo and Joanne's father Frank.  Any truth to that rumor and would anyone care to comment on that latest bombshell?

Some Local 847 Union and National Grid alliance?  Higher ups in the State CSEA are exploring this latest innuendos.  Some assessments of the players are also being looked at.  Back to class....
