Actually, many of our parishioners still support the few businesses left in the neighborhood. We have never turned our backs on the neighborhood --- even those of us whose families lived in the neighborhood 90+ years ago and who moved to Rotterdam and Saratoga County in the 1920's. We still keep coming back to our parish and our "home neighborhood" and we still are willing to roll up our sleeves and work with the city and county leaders to revitalize that neighborhood. Positive news is just around the corner. Mont Pleasant will rise again.

Unlike Marcella's which was granted a tax free $2 million dollar building to get off of Crane Street, the bakery and Combos still remain. Even Frank Gallo and the diner left MP.
Metroplex has aided businesses to GET OUT of the neighborhoods and ignored those which remain. Again, the neighborhoods in need are ignored and left to die. DV should know, St Adalbert's is in the middle of this war zone. Many of the parishoners make a beeline for their cars after mass and hightail it out of MP.
Perhaps the other businesses that are left in mt pleasant should threaten to close shop and see what the plex can or will do for them, huh?
WATCH OUT rotterdamians!!! Do you all already notice the scum seeping down crane street onto altamont ave. it's only going to get worse!!! It's just a matter of time.

You are such a LIAR DV! I'm a parishoner of the Church and NO ONE stays anymore! Even Father Urban tells us time and time again to lock our doors because the criminals steal from the parked cars during mass. People race to their cars and get the heck out of there.
And as far as the City goes, they've never 'rolled up their sleeves' to help the neighborhood. Ask Patty, the owner of Combos, she's picking up the dog sh*t left by the pit bulls everyday. The City could care less that she's there.
It's ignorant outsiders like you DV who don't even know the businesses or businessowners of our City yet proclaim a renaissance Downtown. You have no idea how much tax I pay to live here, yet you freely defend its absurdity in the name of 'progress'. You want to start promoting small businesses, try coming to the Schenectady neighborhoods. Those are the businessowners who are survivors and future of the City. They pay taxes, don't receive grants yet prosper in the midst of daunting odds against them - that would be Metroplex harming them.

BRAVO Rachel!! BRAVO!! I actually know a couple of people who have actually left the parish due to the bad element. Of course they are seniors, so this would bother them even more.

Maybe you race away from the neighborhood -- but I don't and many of us don't
I was a part of the Mont Pleasant Action Coalition for a number of years -- I know many of the business owners in the city -- and I continue to support city businesses.

Even Urban can't wait to get out of Mt Pleasant and retire to his nice free cushy condo in Rotterdam
His condo was not free -- he purchased it with money that he has saved over the years.
You should stop bearing false witness against your neighbor -- it really stinks when a supposed Knight of Columbus is working full time for the devil and other Catholic bashers.

Oh that's right - the purchase price was $1 according to official county records - much like Barbara did, huh?

When? 100 years from now?
How come you refuse to own a house there? How come you refuse to even rent there????? HOW COME YOU DON'T LIVE THERE!!!!!!!!!!
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
The next time you will hear anything positive about Mt Pleasant will be when it is on the History Channel show "Life After People."
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

And WHO are you working for????? THe Devil LOVES to see hard working low income people struggle. The Devil LOVES to see money stolen from the financially struggling taxpayers and given to the millionaires.
Do you think you can answer the question this time.....What would Jesus do? Would He take the money away from the hard working people and give it to the rich? Would he make the lower income people pay the property taxes of the millionaires?

This isnt a rich vs poor issue......it's a society character issue....and the folks who get free fish instead of a fishing pole wont bother doing anything else because socialism will do it for them.....including daycare, food stams, heat, cell phone etc.......then baby's daddy can buy the gold/timberlands/under armor/etc etc while mommy stays on the socialist feed train......and baby's daddy cant afford apartment and family on $15.00/hour....so the subsidies will continue......does Combo's accept food stamps?....
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

You really should try to live up to the standards of the organization you claim to be a member of. Pity you don't. Personally, I doubt you really are a knight. If you are, you should be expelled.
