Will Obama visit Malta?
Wednesday, September 16, 2009
By PAUL POST, The Saratogian
SARATOGA SPRINGS — With the county buzzing about a possible presidential visit, one of the people most responsible for bringing a computer chip plant to Malta says that would be the ultimate payoff for a job well done.
GlobalFoundries’ $4.2 billion facility at Luther Forest Technology Campus is the largest economic development project now under way in the United States.
There are unconfirmed reports that President Barack Obama may tour the site next week as part of a scheduled visit to New York City for a United Nations general assembly meeting.
“Am I surprised? No,” said Jack Kelley, former Saratoga Economic Development Corp. vice president. “If there was ever a project in upstate New York that deserves this kind of attention, this would be it. It brings to the forefront how important Luther Forest is on a national and worldwide basis. When we were working on this, we said one of the greatest rewards would be to have the president — we didn’t know who it would be at the time —come and visit the site.”
Kelley and former SEDC President Ken Green literally traveled the globe in their efforts to woo a chip manufacturer to Saratoga County. Luther Forest won out over other sites in Singapore and Dresden, Germany. Groundbreaking took place in July and more than 200 workers are busy laying foundations for the facility, which is scheduled to open in 2011 and employ up to 1,400 people.
Luther Forest President Mike Relyea said President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisors contacted his office several weeks ago, asking questions about the project’s importance in terms of bringing high-tech jobs to the region. Most types of American manufacturing are in dire straits. “We kind of dispel that,” he said. “It’s a good story we’ve been telling for a long time. That’s what the president’s office is picking up on. They’re looking at us as a bright spot. ..................>>>>...............................>>>>.................http://saratogian.com/articles/2009/09/16/news/doc4ab05c8f70127596309195.txt

...sounds like he already did... |
| "While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat." |

TROY — President Barack Obama will visit Hudson Valley Community College on Monday, according to U.S. Reps. Scott Murphy, D-Glens Falls, and Paul Tonko, D-Amsterdam. The president is scheduled to visit at 11 a.m. According to Tonko and Murphy, they had asked Obama to visit the region to highlight high-tech job creation in upstate New York. “I am honored to welcome President Obama to upstate New York. It’s not every day that you can say the president of the United States is coming to your community,” Murphy said in a statement...............>>>>................>>>>................http://www.dailygazette.com/news/2009/sep/16/0917_bammer/

The new President at SCCC better be furiously calling his taxpayer funded "contacts". Now he's really behind HVCC in publicity. This will lead to hundreds of more local kids going to HVCC. How come Obama won't visit SCCC and talk about the nonexistent engineering programs? But Mr. Salami they created a new job for Death Ray. lol. Obama can then go up to Malta and hog credit for jobs created by REPS Gov Pataki, Senator Joe Bruno, and Senator Hugh Farley. |

She was one of only 7 Senators to vote to continuing wasting taxpayer funding on ACORN. Even Sen Stuart Smally voted NO! Gillenbrand is finished next November. |

Media aids and abets Obama in duping public
There is deception, not change, afoot. The visit of President Obama to the Capital Region is a prime example. The general public was advised that this was an “invitation only” event. Were invitations issued to area people with a cross-section of views for and against the president and his controversial policies for U.S. citizens? I doubt it. Rather, I believe it to be a carefully orchestrated “liberal only” event staged for the softon-Obama media to “carry the water” to the rest of the country’s citizens. Wake up, Americans! We are being duped by the “change agenda” of a charismatic president aided by a watered-down media which has lost its most important tenets, objectively and the responsibility to report, in an unbiased manner, all the news to “we the people.”
